Hat and Boots Restoration Appeal

60 singers came to our Come and Sing Musicals event in St Mary's Church on Saturday. It was wonderful to have so many singers there, having fun together, learning 12 songs from famous shows including Carousel, Oklahoma, Joseph, The Greatest Showman and The Lion King.

Saturday's workshop was skilfully directed by Paul Herrington, who had adapted and arranged many of the songs. The event was further enhanced by trumpeters Brian and Harry, organist Richard and soloist Bex. After the afternoon workshop, friends and family were entertained to an evening performance of Musicals songs and were even encouraged to join in!

The event raised £722 for the Hat and Boots Restoration Appeal. Thank you to everyone who took part 🙏🎶🎵.

All set up and ready to welcome 60 singers to Come and Sing Musicals on Saturday in St Mary's Church. The afternoon workshop is SOLD OUT but everyone is very welcome to a free concert at 6.30pm - doors open from 6.15pm. Please come and enjoy a rousing performance of the songs from well known Musicals learned during the workshop accompanied by trumpeters and organist. Our next fundraising event is a Come and Sing Musicals Workshop 2-5pm on 28th February. An opportunity to learn a selection of songs from well known musicals including The Sound of Music, Oliver, The Greatest Showman, Carousel, Lion King and Mamma Mia. Held in the beautiful building of St Mary's Church, Haddenham, led by Paul Herrington, former Director of Music at St Aldates, Oxford. Refreshments included.

WOW - what an amazing 'Hat, Boots and Boogie' Saturday night! The Village Hall was packed with 140 people singing and dancing all evening to back to back 1970's disco classics and much loved ABBA hits performed by super-talented duo Sam and Sally. 1970's memorabilia, flower power table decorations, retro clothing, 70's themed snacks and prizes for the best dressing up outfits all added to the fun. The event raised £2,500 towards the Hat and Boots Restoration Appeal and Ovacome ovarian cancer charity. HUGE thanks to Sam and Sally, to everyone to supported the event, all those who helped on the night, Haddenham Beer Festivals Trust for their community grant and Haddenham Park and Salon 7 for donated raffle prizes. 🤩🕺👩‍🎤🏵🎤❤️.

We are very excited and grateful to Haddenham Beer Festivals Trust for supporting our Hat, Boots and Boogie event by awarding us a community grant towards costs. Thank you! Grants are made from funds raised at their two fundraising beer festivals, which are well established wonderful events. We're excited to present our next fundraising event on Saturday 20th September - HAT, BOOTS and BOOGIE! A celebration of everything 70's! The first set will feature 1970's disco classics. After the break, get ready for a fun filled ABBA Tribute show packed with timeless classics, performed by "SOS for ABBA" aka Samantha King Sings and Sally Miles. Thank you Haddenham for supporting our Sunday afternoon 'Teas on the Green'! The sun shone and crowds of people came to enjoy tea, coffee, home made cakes and live music played by talented musician Paul Herrington. There was a lovely happy, friendly atmosphere and it was good to see people relaxing and chatting with friends. We're delighted to have raised £1030 from the event, which brings the current Hat and Boots Restoration Appeal total so far to over £66,000! Thank you to everyone who baked, helped set up, loaned equipment, served teas, washed up, donated raffle prizes and cleared away afterwards 🫖 🙏 😊 🍰 🌞.
