🐾A polite reminder about dogs in our playareas🐾

We’ve noticed and received several reports of, an increase in dogs being taken into Branch End Playarea.

Please remember that dogs are not permitted through the main gates off Branch End on the A695, or on the grassed area beyond these gates anywhere within the park.

The same restriction applies at Kate’s Plain Playarea, although thankfully we haven’t seen the same increase in reports there.

We are currently in contact with the Dog Warden at NCC regarding the issue at Branch End and would appreciate everyone’s cooperation in keeping our playareas clean, safe and enjoyable for children. 🐶🚫

We’re excited to announce that we’ll soon be launching a children’s drawing competition across our parish! 🖍️🌈

We’re looking for local businesses within the parish who would be willing to donate a prize for our competition winners.

🎁 Prizes could be vouchers, a product, an experience, a gift or anything else you’d like to contribute!

The more prizes we receive, the more categories we can have, meaning even more children can be recognised for their creativity! 🏆

Play Area Maintenance 🛝🧽

Tomorrow, Wednesday 19th August, both Branch End and Kate’s Plain Play Areas will be pressure washed during the morning.

This is to remove algae and dirt to keep the play areas clean, safe and looking their best. 🧼✨

The play areas do not need to be closed while this work is taking place and we’re hoping to get the work completed earlier in the morning where possible.

We just wanted to make everyone aware in case you see the pressure washing taking place.

Stocksfield Parish Council has been informed by NCC of a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order as follows: 151014581 U8122 Apperley Road

Apperley Road Stocksfield

Northumbrian Water emergency road closure to cleanse a blocked sewer. Expected work date: 25/06/2026. Access for pedestrians and cyclists to be maintained where safe and possible to do so. Order dates: 25/06/2026 - 29/06/2026.

Stocksfield Parish Council has been informed by NCC of an amendment to a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order as follows:

B6309 Whittonstall To Hindley Stocksfield

Northumberland County Council road closure for surface dressing and associated works. Work to be carried out in weather dependent phases:
Phase 1 & 2 - Pre-surface dressing patching and civils
Phase 3 - Surface dressing
Phase 4 - Lock chip Phase 5 - White lining and road studs

Expected work dates: Phase 3: 22/06/2026 - 23/06/2026 between the hours of 08:00 & 17:00. Access maintained for residents and businesses where safe and possible to do so.

Order dates: 26/03/2026 - 25/09/2026

🛴A scooter has been spotted patiently waiting at the bus stop opposite the railway station. While we admire its dedication to public transport, we suspect its owner may be missing it!

If this scooter belongs to you (or you know who it belongs to), please collect it soon. If it is still there after the weekend we’ll arrange for it to be removed.

🛝Branch End Play Area Notice🛝

Weather permitting, surface repairs will be carried out in the play area on Monday 18th – Tuesday 19th May 2026.

While these works are taking place, some parts of the play area may need to be temporarily out of bounds. We will do our best to keep the play area as open and operational as possible throughout.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while we give the play area a little freshen up. It will soon be ready again for plenty of play.
