A huge THANK YOU to everyone who took part in our Rainbow Raffle — the very first one run by Torkington Primary, and what a success it was! 🌈🎉

We hope all of our lucky winners enjoyed their treat boxes over the February half term, packed with goodies for the whole family 🍫🎁

Thanks to your incredible generosity, we raised an amazing £490 — every donation really does make a difference, so thank you all so much 💛

If you have an idea for a fundraiser or would like to be involved with the PTA (our Parent Teacher Association, which helps raise funds and support the school through events and activities), we’d love to hear from you! Please get in touch via our socials or speak to a member of the school office team.

🌈Get Ready for the Great Torkington Rainbow Raffle! 🌈

​Dear Parents and Carers,

​Prepare to be dazzled because the Torkington Primary School PTA is introducing, the Rainbow Raffle!

​We are very excited to announce that we will be creating SEVEN magnificent hampers to be won, and we need your help to make them truly spectacular.

​🌈What is a Rainbow Raffle Hamper?

Imagine a giant hamper overflowing with goodies, treats, and delights that all share the exact same colour! We’re talking about a feast for the eyes and the tummy, perfect for the whole family to enjoy.

​🌟 Your Mission: The Colour Assignments. Check the list below to see which colour your child’s class is collecting:

​Nursery & Reception: RED ❤️
​Year 1: YELLOW 💛
​Year 2: PINK 💗
​Year 3: GREEN 💚
​Year 4: ORANGE 🧡
​Year 5: PURPLE 💜
​Year 6: BLUE 💙

​✅ What Can We Include?
We want these to be great for the whole family! Think of things like:
​Stationery, notebooks, and pens. Small toys, games, or craft kits. ​Bath bubbles, shower gels, or cosy socks. Chocolates, sweets, and savory snacks.
​Important: Everything must be new, unopened, and in-date.
​
❌ What Can't We Include?
​No alcohol.
​No fresh or perishable food.
​No part-used or out-of-date items.

​📅 Important Dates
​Donations: Please bring items to your child's class or the office from Monday 26th January 2026 to Friday 6th February 2026.

​🎫Tickets will be available to purchase via ParentPay from the beginning of February for £1 a go.

​The Draw: The raffle will be drawn on the last day of term, Friday 13th February, ready for the winners to take home.

​Every penny raised goes directly back to the school.

🌟 Money, Money, Money 🌟

​Did you know that your workplace could be the key to unlocking extra funding for our children? Many companies have built-in schemes to support charities, and as a registered charity, Torkington Primary School can benefit directly from your professional life.

​Here is how you can help us bridge the gap and provide better equipment and opportunities for our kids:

​💰 Corporate Match Funding
​Many employers (especially banks and large corporations) offer Match Funding. This is where a company matches the money an employee raises for a charity. Recently, a few of our amazing parents who work in banking supported our Christmas and Summer Fairs. Thanks to their companies matching their efforts, we received an additional £2,000.

​🤝 Volunteering & Grants
​Your time is just as valuable as money. We are looking for parents to help with:
​Life Skills & Career Fairs: Come talk to the kids about your job and inspire the next generation. ​The Bonus.... Some companies grant the school direct funding or supplies just because you spent a few hours volunteering with us. It’s a win-win.

​✍️ GAYE (Give As You Earn)
​Did you know you can donate to the school directly from your salary before tax? This means a £10 donation costs you less, but the school receives the full amount.
​Our Details: You can find our Registered Charity information at the top of this page to set this up through your payroll.

​🏃‍♂️ Fundraising with the PTA (or on your own!)
​From school discos to festive fairs, our parents have stepped up to lead and support amazing events. You don’t have to wait for a school event! You can host a cake sale at your office, do a sponsored walk/run, or even a "dress down Friday" at work with proceeds coming to Torkington PTA.

As the year comes to a close, we’d like to say a huge thank you to all our families, staff, volunteers and supporters for your continued support and for helping us raise vital funds for our school. 💜

🍰🎂 Christmas Cake Sale – We Need Your Bakes! 🎂🍰

Following the fantastic success of previous cake sales, the PTA is excited to announce that they will be holding another one at our upcoming Christmas Fair.

We are calling on all parents, grandparents, friends, and relatives who enjoy baking to donate some baked treats to be sold on our stall.

If you are a keen baker, or know someone who is, and would like to contribute a cake or cupcakes, please message to let us know.

Key Details:
Donations Required: Please bring your creations to the school office on the morning of Friday, 5th December.

Allergy Note: Due to allergies, it is essential that you provide a list of all ingredients used with your donation.

We can't wait to see and taste all of your wonderful treats!
