Are you a Young Leader looking to develop new skills, build confidence, complete your training or meet other Young Leaders from across the district?

Join us for our Young Leader Training Weekend, 13th–15th November 2026, at Abney Scout & Guide Centre, Cheadle.

The training weekend is FREE, including accommodation, meals and activities.

Places for the full weekend are limited, and around half of the tickets have already been claimed, so don't leave it too late to book!

Can't make the full weekend? You can still join us for the Saturday night Young Leader Social from 8pm–10pm. It's a great opportunity to catch up with friends and meet other Young Leaders from across the district.

Tonight, one of our 14–24 Team Leaders visited XBU Explorers to present some fantastic awards, celebrating the achievements of two of our young people, who received their Chief Scout’s Platinum Awards, DofE Bronze Awards and a Young Leader’s Award. 🎉👏

The Chief Scout’s Platinum Award recognises the commitment, personal development, skills and experiences young people gain throughout their Scouting journey. Alongside the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) Bronze, these achievements demonstrate dedication, perseverance and a willingness to take on new challenges.

The Young Leader’s Award is another fantastic milestone, recognising the skills and commitment involved in supporting younger members and helping to make Scouting an exciting and rewarding experience for others.

It was brilliant to celebrate these achievements with the Explorers and their leaders, recognising all the hard work and dedication that has gone into reaching these milestones.

A huge congratulations to both Explorers on their fantastic achievements! 🙌 You should both be incredibly proud of everything you’ve accomplished.

We’d also like to say a massive thank you to all the leaders and volunteers at XBU Explorers who continue to support, encourage and inspire our young people, helping them develop their skills, build confidence and achieve their full potential.

Tonight, our District Lead Volunteer visited 2nd Cheadle Scout Group Public Page to celebrate the achievements of 8 Scouts, who were awarded with their Chief Scout’s Gold Award.

The Chief Scout’s Gold Award is the highest award a Scout can achieve, recognising the commitment, development, skills and experiences they have gained throughout their Scouting journey.

It was fantastic to be able to celebrate this achievement with the Scouts, their leaders and families, and to recognise the hard work and dedication that has gone into reaching this milestone.

A huge congratulations to all 8 Scouts on this fantastic achievement! 👏 You should all be incredibly proud of everything you have accomplished.

We’d also like to say a massive thank you to all the leaders and volunteers who support, encourage and inspire our Scouts every week. These achievements wouldn’t be possible without the time, dedication and enthusiasm you put into Scouting and the opportunities you provide for our young people.

Our Mobile Climbing Wall has passed its inspection! 🎉

We’re delighted to share that our Three Brooks Scouts Mobile Climbing Wall has been inspected today by kongclimbingltd — and we’re pleased to say it PASSED!

Our mobile climbing wall is a fantastic activity for young people, giving them the opportunity to:

🧗 Build confidence and self-belief
💪 Develop strength, coordination and problem-solving skills
🤝 Learn teamwork and encourage each other
🎯 Challenge themselves and step outside their comfort zone
😄 And most importantly… have loads of fun!

The wall is a brilliant way to bring climbing to Scouting groups, schools, youth organisations, community events and other activities, providing an exciting challenge that can be enjoyed by young people of a wide range of abilities.

We’re proud to have such a fantastic asset available and, with its inspection now successfully completed, it’s ready for plenty more climbing adventures!

Today is International Day of Sign Languages, which helps raise awareness and support the human rights of deaf people around the world.
