Coming this week to GoodBuild at Stirling Reuse Hub

700 BLOCKS. £1 EACH. AND QUITE A STORY BEHIND THEM. (H+H Celcon Standard Aerated Concrete Block Grey 3.6N 440mm x 100mm x 215mm).

These aerated concrete blocks have already had a slightly unusual life…

They started out as construction materials, became part of an art installation at Talbot Rice Gallery, University of Edinburgh, and now they’ve arrived at GoodBuild ready to become construction materials all over again.

Normally around £3 per block, we’re selling them for just £1 EACH.

Ideal for DIY jobs, building projects, community projects or anyone who can put them to good use whether you need a handful or quite a few.

And with around 700 available, finding their next home is now the important bit!

We’re shortlisted! 🎉

We’re delighted that GoodBuild at Stirling Reuse Hub has been shortlisted for the Circular Economy Award at the Accelerate to Zero Awards.

GoodBuild is all about finding practical ways to keep surplus construction materials in use, make affordable materials available locally and create opportunities for volunteering, employment and skills development.

Being shortlisted is a brilliant recognition of everything our staff, volunteers, partners and supporting construction companies have helped us achieve so far.

The winners will be announced on 5 November at Vick Grand Central in Glasgow. Whatever happens on the night, we’re incredibly proud to see our community construction reuse hub recognised alongside others working to accelerate the transition to a circular economy.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support and believe in GoodBuild. 💚

🎨 From toddler playroom to a colourful big-girl’s bedroom!

Our very own Maria, who works at the Stirling Reuse Hub, transformed her daughter’s room using preloved finds and even the paint was given another chance to shine.

The colours came from our Community RePaint stock at GoodBuild at Stirling Reuse Hub

🌸 Blushing Bloom – Matt Emulsion
💙 Secret Sky – Matt Emulsion
🤍 White – Matt Emulsion

Maria described the makeover as “incredibly affordable, easy and enjoyable.” Rather than completing it overnight, she allowed the room to evolve, finding just the right pieces on different visits to the Hub.

Her daughter now absolutely loves her new space and feels especially grown-up sitting at her desk with its own lamp!

Planning a room refresh? Pop into GoodBuild and see which paint colours are waiting to inspire you. Stock changes regularly, so you never know what you might find.
