Fireworks display - Saturday 22 August 2026

HES has made it known that a short fireworks display is planned at Stirling Castle tonight at around 10.45pm.

If you have pets, other animals, or anyone at home who may be sensitive to sudden loud noise, please take the usual precautions in advance.

Please share with anyone locally who may find the notice useful.

🌒 Looking for the perfect spot to watch tonight’s solar eclipse?

Sunnylaw Community Greenspace might just be one of the best places in Bridge of Allan to enjoy it.

Tonight, Scotland will experience a spectacular partial solar eclipse, with around 90% of the Sun obscured across much of Central Scotland. Locally, the eclipse begins at around 6.08pm, reaches its maximum at approximately 7.05pm, and finishes around 8pm.

Bring the family, pack a few snacks, bring your furry friends and come up to enjoy the community greenspace while something rather special happens overhead.

There’s nothing formally organised tonight and no official event. Sunnylaw is simply there for everyone to enjoy, so find yourself a comfortable spot, settle in and keep your fingers crossed for clear skies!

☀️ Please watch safely. Never look directly at the Sun. Bring proper solar eclipse viewing glasses and make sure children are supervised when viewing the eclipse.

And while you’re at Sunnylaw, have a wander around, look out for the spiral and explore a little more of the space. If you happen to spot one of our Sunnylaw volunteers while you’re there, be sure to say hello!
