It is with an extremely heavy heart that we report that the Surrey & Sussex Integrated Care Board (ICB) has once again refused the application to reopen our local pharmacy in Thames Ditton High Street.
This despite the fact we have a pharmacist waiting in the wings ready to open for business here.
This is an incredibly unreasonable decision as there has been a pharmacy in our High Street for decades, serving the community, providing accessible healthcare, prescription services and essential support to our elderly residents and families.
The village pharmacy has been the cornerstone of our and is needed more than ever.
We profoundly disagree with this decision and the Thames Ditton & Weston Green Residents’ Association along with Thames Ditton Foundation has written to the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, the Right Hon Yvette Cooper MP, to reconsider this decision.
We are also urging our local MP Monica Harding MP to continue to support us in our campaign to reinstate a pharmacy here. Monica champions local high streets throughout her constituency, including Thames Ditton, and we welcome her support to bring back our pharmacy, which is so important to the long term survival of our High Street. We need to and be able to walk to our local shops and services. welch.b About Thames Ditton

This is how we’ve kept our planting hydrated all summer in our Thames Ditton in Bloom garden on South Western Railway Thames Ditton Station.
We empty 2 litre milk bottles collected from Cafe Noir, next to the ticket office, fill them with tap water, then sprinkle them on the railing mounted planters and wheelbarrows.
We use shopping trolleys to wheel the water up and down both platforms.
It’s simple, not sophisticated, but it works.
We use just the right amount of water 💦 without the need to use a hosepipe - ever.
