As part of our commitment to providing useful funding advice, we wanted to let you know about easyfundraising. easyfundraising provides a free, sustainable and very simple way to receive funding for your organisation all year round from something you, your volunteers, staff, supporters and wider community are already doing - shopping online. And with Christmas fast approaching now is a great time to sign up and start benefiting.

How does easyfundraising work?
easyfundraising partner with over 8,500 leading retailers who will all donate money to your organisation when your supporters shop online with them. Everyone’s everyday favourite retailers are involved, including eBay, Argos, Boots, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Moonpig, Trainline, John Lewis, M&S, Just Eat, and thousands more.

It’s free to register and use and is open to community organisations of all shapes and sizes – you don’t need to be a charity.

Every three months you’ll receive the funds and it’s unrestricted funding so you can spend it on whatever you need – buy supplies and equipment, improve your facilities or simply put it towards running costs.

Once registered, use the free pre-made flyers, posters, social posts and emails to let your supporters, volunteers, staff, trustees know and encourage them to shop in support of your organisation.

Community Alliance Broxbourne & East Herts offers free stop smoking support for up to 12 weeks, with tailored 1:1 advice and guidance. We can provide access to several aids to help you quit including

Ni****ne Replacement Therapies (NRTs) including ni****ne patches (slow release), gum, lozenges, mouth spray, inhalators, microtabs and nasal spray (all fast release)
Oral medication such as Champix (Varenicline), Zyban and Cytisine
V**e starter kits
Support to help you manage cravings and overcome challenges
Carbon Monoxide breath testing to show how quitting is improving your health

A big thank you to Stuart Orton and the team from Community Alliance Broxbourne & East Herts for a lovely event at their hub in the centre of Hertford recently and great to connect with Karen Hutchinson from Herts Police and some of the team as well as other community partners that contribute to our Purple Pages Information Packs and who provide such invaluable services to residents.

We tried to fit all the good causes we've supported onto one image... we ran out of room! 😅

This Thursday, TheGivingMachine turns 20. What started with four dads and an idea made around a kitchen table has helped raise nearly £2.7 million for over 11,000 good causes across the UK.

This week, we're celebrating 20 years of giving made simple. 💜

Community Alliance Funding Fair 2026, a one-stop-shop for local funding opportunities and other support

Come and join us for this vibrant, bustling annual event where community groups , small and large charities and Social Enterprises can connect directly with potential funders. Think of it as a one-stop shop for local funding opportunities and other support.

14 funders and support organisations will be on hand, from Lottery funds to hyper-local funding, community grants, crowdfunding, and more. You can also meet community champions and other support agencies offering their support to help you and the communities you serve.

This event will also be a great opportunity to network, connect and exchange tips with other organisations doing good in Broxbourne and East Herts. Of course, our Community Builder Corinna Hartwig will also be there to answer questions.

Struggling to attract volunteers? Finding it hard to keep them engaged? Want better systems to support your volunteer team?

We have partnered with North Herts & Stevenage CVS and GoVolHerts to support you to attract and retain more volunteers.

This practical, interactive, 2.5‑hour in‑person workshop is designed to help VCFSE organisations in Broxbourne and East Herts strengthen the way they recruit, manage, and communicate with volunteers. It is exclusively for VCFSE Community Alliance member organisations operating in Broxbourne and East Herts. No prior experience is required — the workshop is designed to support beginners as well as those wanting to refine existing practices.
