Our Companion Team is growing and we have been expanding nicely.

A great initiative with specialist help & support offered within Nationwide.

If you or someone you know might have questions or concerns about living with Dementia then book an appointment.

Need advice or support around dementia?

Free Dementia UK clinic appointments are available at Nationwide in Stafford for anyone with a query or concern, whether it is for yourself, a friend or a family member.

Remaining appointments are available on Wednesday 1 July at 2pm and 3pm, and Thursday 2 July at 10am, 12pm, 2pm and 3pm.

The appointments are free, confidential and open to everyone. You do not need to be a Nationwide customer to book.

Loneliness week is a way of engaging and sharing that our communities have lost their connections.

Being lonely for many of the people who reach out to us have built up the courage over time.

Having family, friends and people around you isn't a luxury everyone has.

Companion Grove CIC exists to support people back to their community. Finding a local group to connect with and rebuild a network of friends.

Speaking about loneliness can be daunting, with the words tricky to find, and stigma still surrounding the issue.

While younger generations tend to speak more openly about loneliness and mental health, for many older people, opening up about these experiences can be much harder.

Our latest blog is live 🧡

We’re sharing the story of our very first Companion Grove outing — a gentle canal boat trip on the Ernest Thomas II with South Staffordshire Narrowboat Company.

And what a day it was.

There was sunshine, tea, lunch from Cup a Cha Stafford soft music, peaceful canal views, and plenty of good natters.

But the best part?

The car journey there was quiet. Everyone was a little nervous, which is completely normal when you’re meeting new people.

By the journey home, you couldn’t get a word in edgewise.

That’s what these outings are really about. Not just getting out of the house, but helping people feel included, relaxed, confident, and connected.
