VE Day 80 - here's SCVYS Youth Engagement Co-ordinator Sean celebrating VE Day 50 in 1995!
Today marks 80 years since Victory in Europe Day - a moment to remember the end of World War II in Europe, honour those who served, and reflect on the importance of peace and reconciliation.
Today, we're giving special thanks to the Hednesford Branch of the Staffordshire Regimental Association and Royal British Legion, for their continued support and friendship in the Summer War Graves Camp. The first youth camp took place in 1962 and continues to be held annually.
Each year, we're humbled to work with local veterans and young people from Staffordshire & Germany during the summer on a powerful project that brings history to life.
👋Sean and Rhiannon (pictured at the German Military Cemetery) will be your UK Team this year and they visited Cannock Chase last week to make plans for this year's Services of Remembrance. If you are a young person in Staffordshire aged 16-18 visit https://staffscvys.org.uk/summer-war-graves-project/ to find out more and apply for the camp.
