🌿 A little glimpse at our new school garden project 'Roots to Learning' 🌿
We’re so excited to share some of the concept designs for our new school garden! We’re working towards creating a space that gives children lots of different ways to play, grow, explore, create and spend time outdoors.
Here are some of the areas we’re particularly excited about...
The plans also include a greenhouse, wildlife-friendly planting, sensory areas, water play and spaces for quiet time and den making.
These are concept designs, so there’s still plenty to come, but we hope they give you a feel for what the school is hoping to create for the children. 🌱
🛖 The Gazebo - a sheltered space for art projects, reading, storytelling and gathering together.
🌿 The Willow Garden Path – winding pathways and living willow arches creating a magical route through the planting, with plenty for children to discover along the way.
🎶 The Play Area – an outdoor space for musical and sensory play, movement and exploration.
🥕 The Fruit & Veg Patch – raised growing beds where children can get hands-on with growing vegetables, fruit, herbs and flowers.
Bringing this garden to life will take fundraising, creativity and lots of help from our wonderful school community. We’ll be sharing more about how you can get involved very soon.
In the meantime, this is how you can support the 'Roots to Learning' project;
🎗️All the money raised from our PTFA events will count towards the project, so please keep up the amazing support. The PTFA SumUp store includes a 'Donation' item in denominations of £1 if you or anyone you know would like to make a one off donation (link in bio). All money raised no matter how big or small brings us closer to making the concept design a reality for our children.
We will be running gardening parties for planting, clearing and building. No experience needed. More details to follow!
