💗 Cervical Screening Awareness Week 💗

Cervical cancer rates are higher across our region, with the North West at 19% above the national average and North Wales even higher at 43% above average — but screening can help catch changes early.

If you’ve been invited for screening, please don’t ignore it. What takes a few minutes could change your life forever. It might feel uncomfortable or easy to put off, but it really can make all the difference. And if you’re worried, speak to someone you trust or your GP.

🚶‍♀️🌉 Take on the Thames Bridge Trek Challenge with Us! 🌉🚶‍♂️

On 12th September, our team will be walking an incredible 25.4km across London’s iconic bridges as part of the Thames Bridge Trek Challenge in support of North West Cancer Research.

Our goal is to raise £2,000 to help fund vital research that brings hope to people and families affected by cancer.

Have you been diagnosed with cancer in the last 12 months?

Researchers at Edge Hill University are running an online study exploring whether a self guided program called Finding My Way UK can help people find positive psychological changes after curative cancer treatment.

The study is:
✅ Open to people aged 16+ in the UK or Isle of Man
✅ Fully online and done from home

Please read for skin cancer prevention

☀️ Even though summer is yet to show itself (especially here in the north west), UV rays can damage skin on sunny AND cloudy days.

With melanoma rates higher than the national average across our region, it’s more important than ever to block the sun, not the fun, and take skin cancer seriously.

Stay sun-safe by:
✅ Using SPF 30+ sunscreen
✅ Wearing a hat, sunglasses, and long sleeves
✅ Limiting sun exposure between 10am–3pm
✅ Avoiding sunbeds
✅ Checking your skin regularly for any changes
