🌿 Hello, everyone!

I’ve been quietly working behind the scenes on something very special: STEADY Therapy™, a new approach I’ve been developing to support people dealing with health anxiety, panic, and somatic symptoms.

It’s been a lot of work, but I’m so excited to soon share this with all of you through my hub, Unmasked and Unbroken Together. I promise it will be worth the wait!

💜 Stay tuned for updates, resources, and ways to get involved. I can’t wait to take this next step with you.

With gratitude,
Ben Marsh

🌿 Personal Update – Progress & Healing 🌿

I know I haven’t been very active here lately, and I just wanted to say thank you for your patience, I’ve just been trying to focus on therapy and getting in a place where I can post more.

Next week I’ll be heading into my 10th therapy session, and I’m really proud to share that my mental health has come a long way. 💜

I still experience panic and physical symptoms from time to time, but things are getting easier to manage. Each session has given me tools, strength, and hope – and I can feel the difference in my day-to-day life.

I’ve also started easing myself back into work, just a few hours a week to begin with. I want to make sure I move forward at a pace that supports my recovery rather than rushing and risking setbacks.

For anyone else on this journey – please remember healing isn’t about being “perfect” or never struggling again. It’s about learning, adapting, and finding steadiness even when symptoms come up. 🌸

Thank you all for being part of this space. Sharing my own progress is a reminder that recovery is possible, even when it feels out of reach.

So… I had my first therapy session yesterday for my health anxiety, somatic symptom disorder and panic disorder.

And no, I didn’t burst into flames. 🔥
No, the therapist didn’t hypnotise me. 🌀
And yes — I might have cried a little. (Okay, a lot.😅)

But honestly?
It was nothing like I imagined… and everything I needed.

Starting therapy is scary. Not because of what happens in the room, but because of what it means:
That you’re finally choosing yourself.
That you’re done surviving.
That you’re ready to do the work — even if it’s uncomfortable, weird, or hard to explain to other people.

My therapist introduced me to CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), and for the first time in a long time, I felt like there was a way through the mess — not just around it.

I don’t have it all figured out (yet). But I’m on the path. And that feels like a win. 💛

If you’ve been putting off therapy or feeling unsure, I see you. It’s not easy. But it is worth it.
And if you’re already in it — proud of you. Quietly and loudly.

DO YOU EVER THINK,

“Why would I go to therapy? It’s just talking! Talking doesn’t pay the bills, fix my body, or stop my brain from doing the cha-cha at 3am…”

Sound familiar? 😅
We get it. Therapy can seem a bit… fluffy, especially when you’re in survival mode and just want real answers. But here’s the thing — some types of therapy aren’t just talking. They’re tools, strategies, and brain training systems that actually change the way your mind works.

Let’s talk about CBT – Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

CBT is like personal training for your brain. 🧠💪
Instead of sitting in a circle singing kumbaya (though no judgment if that’s your vibe), CBT helps you:

✅ Understand how your thoughts affect your feelings and actions
✅ Spot negative patterns like catastrophizing, “what if” spirals, or doom scrolling
✅ Learn how to interrupt those cycles with healthier, more realistic thinking
✅ Challenge the fears that keep you stuck
✅ Build confidence and routine back into your life — step by step

CBT doesn’t just help you talk about recovery — it gives you a map to walk it.
For people struggling with depression, anxiety, panic, OCD, trauma, or health anxiety etc, it’s one of the most evidence-backed ways to actually get unstuck.

So yeah, it might start with talking — but with CBT, it quickly becomes doing, changing, and healing.

And no, your brain doesn’t have to cha-cha forever. 💃🚫

💜 Big Things Are Happening Behind the Scenes 💜

Hi everyone – Ben here 👋

I wanted to give you all a little update on where things are at with Unmasked and Unbroken Together and the journey we’re on.

Behind the scenes, I’ve been working tirelessly to turn this vision into something real — a safe, welcoming mental health hub in Southend. A space where no one has to suffer in silence, where support is visible, human, and healing. We’re not there yet, but the groundwork is being laid every single day. 💪

Here’s a little of what’s been happening:

🌱 I’m starting my degree in Psychology this September — a huge step on the path to becoming a counselling and research psychologist, so I can continue creating innovations that truly support people through anxiety, trauma, and mental distress.

🏗️ The community hub is still very much in the works — while we’re still seeking funding and a location, we’re also planning mobile outreach and offline services to support people even before the building opens.

🧠 I’m also developing groundbreaking tools that visually and interactively support people with panic disorders, health anxiety, trauma recovery, depression etc. These ideas are forming the future of early-intervention mental health care — and they’re rooted in lived experience, not just textbooks.

It’s a slow climb sometimes. But every step is driven by purpose, and by the belief that no one should have to mask their struggle just to survive.

If you’d like to get involved, support the vision, or simply stay connected — thank you. It truly means the world.

💜✨ WE NEED YOUR HELP TO BUILD A MENTAL HEALTH SANCTUARY ✨💜

Imagine a place in Southend where no one has to suffer in silence.
A place built for real people with real struggles—panic attacks, grief, trauma, body image battles, mental illness, or simply feeling overwhelmed by life.

That place is almost here…
But we can’t build it without you.

🛠️ We’re creating the Unmasked and Unbroken Together Mental Health Hub – a safe, welcoming, community-run space where people can drop the mask, speak their truth, and begin to heal.
No clinical waiting rooms. No judgment. Just connection, compassion, and real support—led by people who’ve been there.

But to make this dream a reality, we urgently need your help.

🎯 Our GoFundMe is LIVE (and pinned to the top of this page!)
Every single pound you give brings us closer to:
✅ A physical hub for peer support, art therapy, wellbeing events, and crisis-free zones
✅ Outreach for those struggling in silence
✅ A lifeline for people who feel forgotten or misunderstood

💔 WHY THIS HUB MATTERS MORE THAN EVER

Right now, mental health services are at breaking point.

🔹 People are being told to wait 6 months, 12 months—or even longer—for therapy.
🔹 Others are being discharged after just a few sessions with nowhere to turn.
🔹 Every day, people are reaching their limit, fighting battles in silence.
🔹 And tragically, too many are losing their lives before they get the help they need.

We can’t wait for a system to catch up. We need community solutions now.

💥 That’s why this hub isn’t a luxury—it’s a lifeline.

Together, we can build a place where people are seen, supported, and reminded that they matter, no matter how dark it feels.

👉 Please share.
👉 Please help us build hope before more lives are lost.

Hi everyone,

You may have noticed the page is now called Unmasked and Unbroken Together — the same as our support group. That’s because this page will now be focused completely on the journey of building our mental health hub. 💜

I just wanted to post a little update and be honest with you all — I know I haven’t posted in a while, and the truth is, my mental health has been really tough lately. I’ve been experiencing constant dizziness and feeling lightheaded, like I’m about to faint. I’ve had chest tightness, flutters, pain, and a deep fear that something’s wrong with my heart — even though deep down, I know it’s anxiety. But this time it’s felt so intense, like this time could be different… and that fear has been overwhelming.

Everything has looked too bright, too sharp — and my eyes have felt blurry at the same time. I’ve had moments of feeling detached, off balance, and the panic attacks have been non-stop. Even just sitting watching TV, one can hit me out of nowhere. It’s been exhausting.

But through all this, I’ve still been trying to move things forward behind the scenes. I had a really helpful meeting with Maria at SAVS, and she suggested that for now, it might be better to focus fully on building the Unmasked and Unbroken Together hub before launching the clothing line. As much as I want to do it all at once, I know she’s right — I want to get this right, for everyone who needs it.

I’ve now got all the documents ready to register the charity, which is the next big step. That process might take a bit of time, but once it’s approved, it’ll be full steam ahead to start creating this safe space for anyone who needs support. I’m going to book another meeting to get everything sent off and find out what else I need to do to bring this to life.

My goal — and my hope — is to have the hub built or at least under construction by the end of this year.

Whether you’ve just finished therapy, you’re waiting for it, at the very start of your mental health journey, or just need a place to sit and breathe — this hub will be here for you. It’ll be built and run by people with lived experience who truly get it.

Thank you for sticking with me through the ups and downs. This community means the world to me, and I’m building it for us.

With love,
Ben 💜
