Just Ride Southend were fortunate enough to have the wonderful opportunity to experience an executive box at Roots Hall stadium last week curtesy of the Shrimpers Trust & Southend United Football Club. We enjoyed a full evening of hospitality and despite the score a good time was had by all.
We really value the support we get from the football club, trust and Southend United Ex-Players Association - SUEPA Southend United Community Foundation and the great relationship we have with them as a community partner and this was a lovely way to say thank you to our volunteer crew and those who support us.

We are incredibly proud to welcome Just Ride Southend to the Start/Finish line of this year's Foulness Bike Ride! 🎉🚴‍♀️

If you haven't heard of them yet, Just Ride Southend is an amazing inclusive cycling project. Their mission is simple but powerful: to ensure that absolutely anybody - regardless of age, ability, faith, or background - can engage with cycling and enjoy its physical and mental well-being benefits.

To make this possible, they provide a fantastic range of adapted equipment, including hand cranks, side-by-side assisted bikes, and even wheelchair platform and transfer bikes. This allows everyone to experience the sense of movement and freedom that many of us take for granted, even if someone else is doing the pedalling for them!

You can choose Just Ride Southend as your nominated charity for the Foulness Bike Ride! If their mission inspires you, why not dedicate your 11 or 23 miles to raising sponsorship money to help them keep their incredible project running?

More ways to support Just Ride Southend in September

1. Annual fundraising Quiz Night, Sat 19 September, at Leigh Road Baptist Church main hall, Marguerite drive, Leigh, SS9 1NN, 7pm for 7.30 start, £5 a ticket, raffle on the night supported by Tesco Morrisons Co-op Asda and others. 🍾🍫

2. Waitrose & Partners Eastern Avenue only, we are in their community green token vote till end of September and the funds raised will be used to buy more children's bikes. Please remember to collect your token and vote by the exit. 🗳 🚵

3. All our Tuesday and Wednesday session times are returning to 10-12 noon as from this Saturday 29th August, we will confirm if we can extend sessions for October half term nearer the time. All 3 weekly sessions will run till early December, subject to weather. 🚵

1. We are in desperate need of more volunteers especially for Saturdays and Wednesdays and those who would be interested in helping with our sign in-pay desk on a cover basis, when our regulars are away or unwell. Minimum of 1 session a month, 9 till 1pm.

Aged from 16yrs plus (up to 82yrs old at present) and also Duke of Edinburgh community service from 14yrs plus these but must be accompanied by an adult, flexible timings to accommodate the D of E requirements.

A chance to join a wonderful inclusive team, who have been nominated for a Kings Award for Voluntary Services this year and help make a difference to thousands of people each year. 12,000 riders already this year alone.

This can be a physical or non physical role, no experience/bike background needed.

Come and join the fun tomorrow (Tuesday 4th August) for our 12th birthday celebrations with all our community partners between 10 am & 12.30 pm.
Details of some of what's on offer in the poster, including second hand bikes for sales, Security tagging, so bring your own bikes down and lots of tools and bike bits on our own jumble stall, so grab a bargain.

Usual £2.50 donation to ride but lots of games and fun to get involved in, so bring some extra cash for the extra activities and refreshments that will be fundraising for our charity.

Stalls and visits from ForwardMotion South Essex, SAVS, Trust Links Charity, Everyone Health Southend, Rayleigh MTB Club, Little Heroes ASD Support, Wheels for All, Asda, Shoeburyness Suez Recycling And Recovery Uk Ltd, Co-op community and funeral care Southend and a visit from the Southend United Football Club new female mascot Rocksea.

Summer holiday times, open all throughout August from this Saturday 1st from 10am till 12.

Half an hour extended sessions every week for Tuesdays & Wednesdays for all of August only, 10-12.30, thanks to our awesome volunteers for making this happen.

Saturdays 1st, 8th, 15th, 22 & 29 August openings will stay as 10-12.
