Any further donations we receive now will go towards a dressing table and a few other home comforts to provide for our unpaid carers and relatives staying overnight for our end of life patients.

🌟 Palliative Care Boxes Rollout Continues! 🌟

Today, our Chairman Tony Howard joined the team in delivering the next phase of our Palliative Care Boxes—bringing comfort and essential items to families spending time with loved ones at end of life.

This heartfelt initiative was inspired by Elle, a staff nurse in Cardiac Care, and continues to make a meaningful impact across our hospital.

Medicine for Older People Wards
Cancer Care Wards
GICU
Neuro ICU

Last week, we were thrilled to deliver colourful new chairs to the Children’s Theatre Reception at University Hospital Southampton — a small change that’s already making a big difference.

We’re incredibly grateful to Senior Sister Rebecca Smith for sharing this heartfelt feedback:

“We have had such wonderful feedback from staff and parents about them and we are delighted with how they look in the room. We wanted to say a massive thank you to League of Friends for funding this and providing a nicer experience for children and their families during a stressful time. They have also previously purchased the TV in this room for us to help distract the children from the harsh theatre environment so we are really grateful for them spending more money on us this year. It's made a real difference for our service users!”

At League of Friends, we believe that small touches like a splash of colour or a moment of distraction can help ease anxiety and bring comfort to children and families during hospital visits. We’re proud to support the incredible staff who make these spaces feel safe and welcoming.

Thanks to your incredible generosity, we’re able to provide our staff with the equipment and resources they truly need—making their working lives better and enhancing the care they give to patients every day.
