A new chapter for Turner Sims 🎶

One of the South’s leading music venues, Turner Sims, is set to become fully accessible for the first time in its 50-year history.

A £2.3m programme of improvements, supported by University of Southampton and Arts Council England, will introduce step-free access throughout the building and transform public facilities, ensuring everyone can experience the joy of live music.

This milestone project is also made possible by a generous legacy gift from long-standing supporter Philip George Osborn, whose contribution will help secure the venue’s future for generations to come.

Since opening in 1974, Turner Sims has welcomed tens of thousands of audience members, artists, students and community groups each year. Now, this investment ensures it remains a vibrant, inclusive cultural hub for the South.

Buy your tickets for Dvořákathon today! This music marathon, organised by two of our very own Southampton alumni, returns on 1 March 2026 at Turner Sims, Southampton - a full day celebrating the music of Antonín Dvořák and raising funds for life-saving cancer immunology research.

Over 60 musicians from across Hampshire will perform in four concerts in one day! You can join for one, two, three, or all four concerts.

Huge thank you to Derek and Cara, who took on an incredible abseil down the Spinnaker Tower to support our Cancer Immunology Fund👏.
