Two of our amazing Netley Royals coaches, Tracy & Shaun, are taking on the incredible 3 Peaks Challenge, climbing the highest mountains in Scotland, England, and Wales in just 24 hours! 🏔️💪

They’ll be joined by a brilliant team including runners from Netley Abbey Runners, Itchen Spitfires, and John, a proud parent of one of our players 🙌

This challenge is especially close to their hearts, as they’re doing it in memory of two friends who sadly lost their battles with mental health 😢

They’re raising money for Solent Mind, a charity doing vital work supporting mental health in our community. 💚

If you’re able to support, every donation really does make a difference and even just sharing this post helps more than you know.

⚽️ Weekend Review - Netley Royals ⚽️

Another fantastic weekend for our Royals squads 💙

🌟 Respect Festival
An incredible achievement as 6 of our teams were invited to the EDMSL Respect Festival after earning a 100% respect score from opposition coaches this season 👏

U9 Yellows played 6 matches across the morning, including some tough tests against higher league opposition.

As always, today was about more than results 💭
It was about effort, teamwork, and enjoying the experience together and the boys showed that in abundance 💪

🏅 A brilliant way to round off the morning with medals for everyone!

⚪️ U7 Whites
What a great day for the U7 Whites at their first Respect Festival!

I know it gets said a lot, but this was honestly the best we’ve seen them play as a team 👏

The feedback from other teams was fantastic, and despite coming up against some very strong opposition, the boys didn’t give them an inch.

💪 Undefeated across all 6 games, a brilliant achievement!

So proud of every single player and the way they represented the club 💙

🔵 U7 Blues
Also in action at the Oxford Blackbirds Tournament!

A strong run saw them reach the Plate Semi-Finals, drawing 0-0 before narrowly missing out in a penalty shootout.

Unlucky in the end, but a brilliant morning of football ⚽️

💙 Huge well done to all our players this weekend, your effort, attitude, and respect make us proud every single week!

☀️⚽️ Minis Training Update ⚽️☀️

Fun in the sun at training on Saturday morning! A warm one, but great to be back out on the pitch 🙌

We kicked off with ball control, moved into zig-zag drills through the poles, and finished with some sharp shooting 🔥

While setting up for 3v3 matches… things got a bit wild with a surprise water fight 💦 (sorry, Josh 😅)

Amazing energy all round and a big well done to everyone who picked up trophies and medals today 🏆👏

Final game of the season for our U14s 😊
And a brilliant way to wrap up the league season for all Netley Royals teams 👏

With Brendon only having 6 players, the match wouldn’t usually go ahead — but it was agreed to play a friendly so the boys could still get a game in, and it turned into a great occasion 💙

Mason & Harry immediately swapped sides to help even things up, showing fantastic sportsmanship and what youth football is all about 😍

With the heat, we kept things flowing with 4 x 15-minute sessions ☀️

We also mixed things around to give Caleb & Elliot their first goals — and both stepped up brilliantly 🙏

⚽️ Goals:
Lincoln 3
Caleb 2
Fabion 2
Elliot 1
Corey 1
Harry 1
Bobby 1
Charlie 1

For Brendon:
Billy 1
Mason 1
Brendon 1

Final score: Netley 12 – Brendon 3

The best part? EVERY single player got on the scoresheet today 💯 What a way to finish the season!

Thank you to all players, parents and supporters across every age group — your support all season has been amazing ❤️

Enjoy the break and we’ll see you all on 5th June! ###

Smaller squad for the PAN team training on Saturday after a last minute call to train (cheers Saints! 😅), but what a session it turned out to be.

First proper heat of the season 🌞 so we adapted well and focused on sharpening individual skills and the effort from everyone was top class.
Special mention to Charlie, who was outstanding in goal 🧤 but honestly, every single player put in a Player of the Week performance 👏

🔵⚽️ BIG NEWS FOR NETLEY ROYALS PAN DISABILITY ⚪️🔵

We are incredibly proud to share that our amazing coach Ant Waghorn has been nominated for the BBC Radio Solent Make a Difference Awards 2026, and this recognition reflects the dedication of our entire coaching team, including Lily, Emelia, Mia and Elliott, who make everything we do possible. 💙

This nomination couldn’t be more deserved. When Ant took over, the team was close to folding. Today, it’s a thriving, inclusive squad where children of all abilities can experience the joy of football, build confidence, and most importantly, feel they truly belong.

Every Saturday morning, you’ll find our coaches right there on the pitch at Springwell School, encouraging, supporting, and often running hand in hand with players to ensure everyone can take part safely. Their kindness, patience and belief in every single child has created something truly special for our players and their families.

From the very beginning, Lily and Emelia have been instrumental in building the foundations of this team, with Mia and Elliott continuing to strengthen and grow what makes this group so unique. Together, they are a coaching team that goes above and beyond every single week.

And of course, at the heart of everything are our incredible players and their families, you are the reason this team exists, and you inspire us all. You are the real heroes. 💙

And the journey doesn’t stop here as exciting times are ahead with the team looking forward to entering their very first season in the Southern Inclusive Football League next season! ⚽️💙

This nomination is a celebration of everything Netley Royals PAN disability stands for:
💙 Inclusion
⚽️ Teamwork
💙 Belonging

Congratulations Ant and the whole coaching team, we are so proud of you all! 👏

How do you say goodbye to something that’s been part of grassroots football for 15 years and at the club for 7?

Today, Keith took charge of his FINAL game as a Netley Royals coach, and it’s not just the end of a season, it’s the end of an era.

From day one, Keith has been at the heart of this team.
Freezing mornings. Muddy pitches. Setting up nets. Packing them away. The wins, the losses, and everything in between.
He’s given everything.

There were moments this team nearly folded. It didn’t, because people like Keith refused to let it.

When he joined, Netley Royals only had teams up to U16 within the Tyro League. Keith and this group pushed for more. They didn’t just play, they changed the club.

This squad became the FIRST in Netley Royals history to go all the way from youth football into the men’s game. Because of them, we now have a real pathway for players coming through.

That’s a legacy.

But ask Keith what matters most, and he won’t talk about achievements.

He’ll talk about the players.

The boys he met years ago are now young men — work, university, travelling, new chapters ahead. None of them may go pro, but that was never the point.

What they built together means more.

And in Keith’s own words, it feels like “losing 17 sons all at once.”

That tells you everything.

This might be his last game on the touchline, but it won’t be the last time we see him. He’ll still be there, watching, supporting, still their biggest fan.
Because once they’re your team, they’re always your team.

And one thing he’s always reminded them:
Football is a game. Enjoy it. Wherever you play.

From everyone at Netley Royals, thank you, Keith. For everything. 💙⚽
