Wheal Velocity Cycling Club in Cornwall are hosting a four stage, two day crit race in a couple of weeks time, at the start of half term week, with both adults’ and kids’ categories. Based on past experience of running this event, we hope that this will be a fantastic couple of days and an opportunity for racers of all ages to do something slightly different from most crit races.

Hi all,

Newbury Velo would like to invite your members to take part in our Summer Cyclocross Series 2026, along with our free CX coaching sessions we’re running in the lead‑up to the races (spaces are limited for the coaching).

These events are designed to be accessible, friendly, and great fun, ideal for experienced CX riders, MTB and gravel riders, and anyone looking to try cyclocross for the first time, young or old.

Race dates:

Thursday 21 May 2026
Thursday 4 June 2026
Thursday 18 June 2026

All races take place at Goldwell Park, Newbury, with the first race starting at 5:30pm. Courses are fast, flowing, and fully rideable for all abilities, with a dedicated beginners’ race at each round to encourage new riders into the discipline.

Free CX training sessions:

We’re also hosting open, free cyclocross skills sessions ahead of the series for adult / 16+ riders. These are suitable for all levels and a great way to build confidence before race day. A flyer is attached, please feel free to share it within your club social media.

Six weeks of Summer Cyclocross fun twisting parkland courses accessible to all. MTBs, gravel bikes, and cyclocross bikes are welcome and encouraged for new riders.

This Sunday 26th April is our first club event of the seasona 10 mile time trial, at Nomansland on the challenging P182 course, details via the link below.

It's a big thumbs up from the youngsters who joined our Girl's Cycling Skills taster session this week! Brilliant to see them building confidence and having fun together! 😍

Our Saturday morning club sessions return on 18th April for 6 to 18 year old girls or boys who want to take their cycling to the next level.

Thanks to Hampshire FA for their support with our Stoneham Lane Football Complex venue. 🙌
