Keeping cool in a heatwave ☀️ The children have really enjoyed our cooling activities in the hot weather . These activities are great for sensory exploration, early maths , social and communication development.

Our new outside shed has made children's outdoor experiences better and easier for staff to set up sand and water play experiences which the children really enjoy . Thank you to the Parish Hall committee for granting the preschool permission to have an outdoor shed , it is much appreciated.

The children have been very busy this term , and have shown a strong interest in sea creatures, we created sea slime for the children to explore with the sea creatures, and added shells to the water play for children to explore . There was lots of great language , collaborative play and imagination as children created Rock pools with the shells for the sea creatures .These activities promote language , social play , early maths and literacy skills and understanding the world .

Copythorne has had a little facelift , and we have upgraded our book area to be more neutral,with a new rug , divider , book case and created a further quiet area and calm space for children to enjoy with treasure baskets , book baskets and sensory toys . we finished the last two weeks of this half term learning about life cycles, celebrating World Bee day , where the children were learning bees are our friends and help flowers to grow .

This week there have been lots of sensory play opportunities and keeping cool in our nature play area , that contains to grow and fill the children with imagination and learning opportunities.

we reopen on June 1st ,and we would like to wish you all a lovely half term in the sunshine ,and to keep safe and hydrated .

we have had lots of fun in summer term 1,and as we approach half term . The children have had the opportunity to meet a police officer , which was a valuable experience for the children ,and they really enjoyed seeing a real police car up close .

The children also had the opportunity to stroke a real chicken and handle some baby chicks . Thank you to Jaie Coffin and her sister Jas, for bringing the chicks in for the children. It was a truly valuable experience and moment .

These real life experiences enhance children's learning opportunities.

we have had a busy start to the Summer Term ,and we would like to welcome our new starters. We have celebrated St George's Day, World Earth Day and our interest area has been a florist , which has proved very popular.

The children have had lots of fun with our sensory tray and planted cress seeds .

Copythorne has been busy with Mother's day cards , which we hope you all liked . Thank you to Kirsty for making the cards with the children. Thank you Lucy for creating our Spring themed trolley with life cycles and The Very Hungry Caterpillar book with props .

The children have also enjoyed making spring pictures from various materials.

Next week our focus book will be The Very Hungry Caterpillar book with props and our rhymes this half term have been Hot Cross Buns , Sleeping Bunnies , and Five little Ducks .

We would like to wish our families a lovely half term and hope you have a lovely week. We reopen on Monday 23rd February.

The children have been very busy over the last two weeks with lots of sensory play and tasting pancakes . Having the opportunity to use and hold a hand chopper to chop frozen raspberries for their pancake topping .

These activities are great for physical skills, listening and attention and early maths and literacy skills, also promoting understanding the world .
