Today we're doing a Sunday Share from Mind

It can be so hard to know how to help someone when they're struggling - and many of these ideas also relate to supporting breastfeeding mums.

"Listen, and don't judge" really stood out to us - a listening ear can be more helpful than you think!

"It’s tough seeing someone you care about going through a hard time - you can feel pretty helpless, right? 😔
But the good news is, there are ways you can try to support them.
Here's how ➡️https://www.mind.org.uk/information-support/guides-to-support-and-services/seeking-help-for-a-mental-health-problem/helping-someone-else-seek-help/"

Check out Breastfeeding Network (UK) advice for breastfeeding in the heat!
☀In hot weather, your baby may want to feed more often or for longer than usual.
☀ If they're under 6 months and exclusively breastfed, there's no need to give any additional water - just feed on demand to keep them hydrated and make sure you're getting plenty of fluids yourself.
☀Your body will generally continue producing enough milk for your baby's demand (except if you get extremely dehydrated) but keep on top of your water and ice lolly intake for your own wellbeing!
☀Babies over 6 months who have started eating solid foods should be offered water in a cup with meals, and throughout the day in hot weather.
More info on keeping your baby safe in the sun can be found here:

It's Cervical Screening Awareness Week - so we're here to remind you how important it is for everyone with a cervix to have cervical screening.
Please book an appointment as soon as you are invited. If you're unsure if you've missed a screening, please contact your GP.
NHS update from July last year:
"... younger women (aged 25 to 49) who test negative for HPV, meaning they are at very low risk of cervical cancer over the next 10 years, will safely be invited at 5-year intervals rather than 3, in line with major clinical evidence.
Those whose sample indicates the presence of HPV or who have a recent history of HPV, which causes nearly all cervical cancers, will continue to be invited to more frequent screenings to check HPV has cleared and if not, if any cell changes have developed."

Please speak to your GP if you are worried about how this may affect you.
✨Please share to help raise awareness✨
