β˜€οΈ Babies experience heat differently from adults.

During warmer weather, infant massage may look a little differentβ€”and that's perfectly okay.

Your baby may prefer shorter sessions, less oil, or simply spending time connecting through touch and interaction.

One of the beautiful things about infant massage is that it teaches us to adapt.

The goal isn't completing a massage.

The goal is listening to your baby.

πŸ’œ Parent Tip:
Try massage during the coolest part of the day and keep the room comfortable for both of you.

πŸ‘‡ Have you noticed your baby's preferences change during hot weather?

πŸ’™ Happy Father's Day from IAIM UK

Today, we celebrate the fathers, stepfathers, grandfathers, partners, father figures, and all those who play an important role in a baby's life.

Early parenthood can sometimes focus heavily on mothers, but fathers are a vital part of a baby's world too.

Research continues to show that loving, responsive relationships with fathers support children's emotional, social, and cognitive development. Every interaction helps shape your baby's understanding of safety, trust, and connection.

Infant massage offers a wonderful opportunity for dads to build that relationship from the very beginning.

It's not about being an expert.

It's not about doing everything perfectly.

It's about spending time together, learning your baby's cues, and creating moments where your baby feels seen, valued, and loved.

Many fathers tell us that infant massage gives them dedicated time to connect with their baby, build confidence, and develop their own unique parenting rhythm.

So if you're a dad wondering whether infant massage is for you, the answer is simple:

πŸ’™ Absolutely.

Your voice matters.
Your touch matters.
Your relationship matters.

And your baby already knows the difference you make.

✨ Tag a father, father figure, or special man who is making a difference in a baby's life this Father's Day.

πŸ’œ Fathers have an important role to play from the very beginning.

Infant massage isn't just something for mums. It offers dads a wonderful opportunity to build their own unique relationship with their baby through touch, communication, and shared experiences.

Many fathers tell us that infant massage becomes one of their favourite parts of the dayβ€”a chance to slow down, tune into their baby, and enjoy dedicated time together.

And the best part? Your baby doesn't care if you've never changed a nappy perfectly, can't fold a pram without instructions, or still need help finding the baby wipes. 😊

What they do recognise is your touch.
Your voice.
Your scent.
Your presence.

Through infant massage, dads can begin to understand their baby's cues, develop confidence in their parenting, and create meaningful moments of connection that support emotional wellbeing and secure attachment.

The relationship you build doesn't have to look like anyone else's.

It simply needs to be yours.

πŸ’œ As we approach Father's Day, we celebrate all the dads, stepdads, grandads, partners and father figures who are showing up, learning, growing and loving their babies every day.

✨ Tag a dad who deserves a little appreciation on the lead up to Father's Day.

πŸ’œ Today, on World Sickle Cell Day, we pause to raise awareness and show support for the children, families, and communities affected by sickle cell disorder.

When a baby or child is living with a chronic illness or lifelong medical condition, parents often become experts in balancing appointments, treatments, routines, and everyday family life. Through it all, the need for love, comfort, and connection remains just as important.

Infant massage is not a treatment for sickle cell disorder, but gentle, appropriate massage can support relaxation, promote body awareness, and encourage healthy circulation. The nurturing experience of loving touch can also help create moments of calm, reassurance, and connection between parent and child.

At IAIM, we believe that every baby deserves opportunities to feel safe, valued, and connected, whatever their individual journey may look like.

To parents and caregivers supporting a child with a chronic illness, disability, or long-term medical condition: we see your strength, your dedication, and the extraordinary care you give every day. πŸ’œ

✨ If your family has been touched by a chronic illness or medical condition, and you feel comfortable doing so, share a message of support, encouragement, or hope in the comments. Your story may help another family feel a little less alone.

Parenthood is one of the few journeys where nobody arrives fully prepared.

There are no rehearsals.

No final exam.

No perfect route from A to B.

Instead, there are thousands of small discoveries.

Learning what makes your baby light up.

Recognising their favourite songs, faces, sounds and routines.

Understanding what brings comfort on difficult days.

Infant massage offers families a dedicated opportunity to explore these discoveries together. It encourages observation, curiosity and shared moments that often become treasured parts of family life.

Over time, many parents find that it isn't the grand milestones they remember most.

It's the unexpected smile.

The tiny hand reaching back.

The moments when something simply clicks.

Today, we celebrate every parent and caregiver navigating this remarkable journey in their own way.

What is the most surprising thing your baby has taught you so far?

Share it belowβ€”we'd love to read your answers.

As Infant Mental Health Awareness Week comes to a close, we return to the heart of this year's theme: Attunement.

Through loving relationships, babies learn:

πŸ’› I am safe
πŸ’› I am valued
πŸ’› I belong

These messages are communicated long before words are understood.

Through eye contact.

Through responsive care.

Through nurturing touch.

At IAIM, we believe infant massage is about much more than massage.

It is about relationship.

It is about connection.

It is about nurturing touch

It is about helping babies and parents grow together.

✨ Save this post as a reminder that connection is one of the most powerful foundations we can give a child.

When parents become more attuned to their baby, something else happens too.

They often become more confident.

More observant.

More trusting of their own instincts.

Infant massage isn't just about understanding babies.

It's also about helping parents discover their own strengths.

Connection grows both ways.
