Who knew that one little group could turn into this 🖤🐾

If anyone knows Indie went through a horrific attack recently 😞 and we knew we wouldn’t give up on her recovery

We’ve gone out for a lush walk at marsden beach today - due to anxiety and Indies recent attack - she doesn’t get to go to the beach much 😮‍💨

But today we went down together to support each other and had some snacks and chatted and gave indie some time to relax and sniff and spend time with us

Loved it guys and I’m glad Indie could have a great time and feel safe and supported

The way the dog community has pulled together for these two amazes me

They welcomed me in 💜

This mornings session wasnt bout training . It was about building trust with me. And a few months ago, I wasn’t sure we’d get here.

And what we didn’t plan for — it started rebuilding their trust in the outside world too.

A couple of months ago, Ronnie and Mavis and their guardian were badly attacked by two dogs

Since then, the world has felt pretty overwhelming.

Dogs felt scary. People felt scary. Someone coming into their home felt scary.

The barking, lunging and pulling weren’t the problem.

They were doing what so many reactive dogs do when they don’t feel safe — trying to create distance from the things that worried them.

Before I met them, I was already supporting their guardian through RESET. Because we can’t just look at the dog , we have to support the nervous systems on both ends of the lead.

Yesterday and today we worked on introductions and building trust.

Today we saw people. We saw dogs. We walked together.

Then something happened that meant more to me than the walk itself.

They welcomed me into their home.

For two dogs who’ve been carrying fear since a traumatic experience that’s huge.

A few months ago, people felt unsafe.

Today they walked past people, saw dogs, and invited me through their front door.

Not because they were told to.
Not because they were corrected.

But because they were beginning to feel safe enough to make different choices.

That’s where real healing starts. 💜🐾

I’m so sorry if you missed out on this course 😞

We weren’t expecting to fill up so quickly!

But we will be back on the 18th of July!

This course is designed to help you connect and build focus- help with calmness and enrichment and also receive provisional advice off a trainer whilst you’re there!

It’s also great for reactive dogs who may be in reactive recovery - giving them a safe space that you know that their recovery won’t be affected.

Great for owners who may be in the same position, recovering or struggling to go outside with their dog - ask our dogs who come - they don’t need much of a run around to feel knackered after this course 😂 😴

I’m there on hand for a chat and anything you may need - letting you know about our community services like our groups and access to training!

If you’d like a slot on our next course drop a comment

What does your morning routine look like with your pup?

Millie likes to get up go for a wee have a sniff in the garden and then have her meds and her breakfast

Then she comes on the school run and then she comes home for a snuffle Matt

Then it’s back to sleep for her!

We like a slow morning for my anxiety 😮‍💨

What does your morning look like for you and your dog?

Most reactive dogs don't need more training. They need their basic needs met first.

I know that's not what you've been told.

You've probably been told to be firmer. More consistent. More structured. To drill the recalls, tighten the heelwork, get on top of it.

And you've tried. You really have.

But here's what often gets missed underneath all of that advice…

A dog who isn't sleeping properly cannot learn.

A dog in pain cannot learn.

A dog who hasn't had a chance to sniff, scavenge, chew, or decompress in days cannot learn.

A dog whose cortisol is still sitting in their body from yesterday's walk cannot learn.

A dog who never feels truly safe in their own home cannot learn.

Reactivity isn't usually a training gap. It's a needs gap.

Sleep. Safety. Nutrition. Body care. Space to be a dog. Recovery time between stressful events.

When those foundations are wobbly, no amount of obedience work will hold. The nervous system simply won't let it.

So before we add more cues, more corrections, more pressure… we look underneath.

What does this dog actually need to feel regulated? What's been quietly stacking up? Where are the gaps that training keeps falling through?

That's where real change starts. Not with more drills. With a dog whose body finally feels safe enough to learn.
