Pride Month is here! Yeovil Does Pride isn't until September 5th 2026, but we work hard for our local LGBT+ community all year round.

There will be lots of businesses trying to sell you rainbow wares, and if you find something you like there's nothing wrong with buying it! But if your intent is to support LGBT+ causes, it's better to give money to charities directly if you have the means to do so. We especially recommend giving to trans focused charities at this time.

If you have already done so, and you'd also like to support a local grassroots LGBT+ cause we'd be delighted to receive your donation. Look for the *donate* page on our website for other details you might need if you are able to help us in this way. If you're not able to right now, please consider sharing this post to help us reach someone else who might. Thank you 🏳️‍⚧️💚🏳️‍🌈

If you’re struggling, please reach out – whether to some one you know or using a service like those below. You matter, and support is out there to help you through whatever life brings.

Please note that different support facilitators will have different time and days of operation, and all of the LGBT+ specific support listed is only available during certain hours. At the bottom of the page we have included two services that aren’t LGBT+ specific, but do ofter a form of support 24/7. Take good care of yourself.

“Switchboard is the national LGBTQIA+ support line. For anyone, anywhere in the country, at any point in their journey. We can discuss anything related to sexuality and gender identity. Whether it’s sexual health, relationships or just the way you’re feeling. This is your space – to explore,...

Today is IDAHOBIT and this years theme is "At the heart of democracy".

“Democracy is more than elections and institutions. It is the promise that every person can live with dignity, participate in their community, and be protected by the laws that govern them. For LGBTQIA+ people, that promise remains unfulfilled in much of the world. When governments roll back rights, restrict civic space, and target LGBTQIA+ communities, they weaken democracy for everyone."

The UK has fallen to 22nd place on the annual Rainbow Index of European countries ranked by their laws on LGBTI equality. The UK is now the second worst country for overall LGBTI laws in all of western Europe and Scandinavia, with only Italy ranked lower.

Our country was in first place in 2015 but has slipped down the index every year since. This year, the UK fell 7 places because of the recent Supreme Court judgment and the UK Government’s response, overturning two decades of recognition for trans people’s identities.

For laws that relate to the recognition of trans people’s gender identity, the UK is now ranked 45th out of 49 countries, after the Supreme Court ruling. ILGA-Europe considers that the Court’s ruling constitutes a legal block on effective recognition of trans people’s identities, the only other European countries with such a legal block being Bulgaria, Georgia, Hungary and Russia.

That's more important than ever to use your voice and your democratic right to try and make positive change. Our MP for Yeovil is Adam Dance - MP for Yeovil and South Somerset

Happy ***anVisibilityDay to all the wlw in our community. We are delighted to share in the aims of those behind Le***an Visibility Day & Week, as they proudly proclaim: "Our aim is BOTH to celebrate le****ns and show solidarity with all LGBTQI women and non binary people in our community. We believe in unity, and lifting up those who are most marginalised. It is essential that Le***an Visibility Week is a voice for unity and lifts up ALL women, especially those who come from marginalised communities."

Today is International Transgender Day of Visibility.

Feeling safe, affirmed, and supported is vital for mental health. Today and every day, we stand with trans people as they blossom.
