Public meeting being held by Hatton Parish Council and Keep Hatton Station Rural this evening, 7:30pm, at Hatton Village Hall to inform residents of the potential impact of the emerging South Warwickshire Local Plan on the area.

It won't specifically cover Lapworth, but it may help with understanding the SWLP, the current delay and the overall timeline (as well as highlight the devastating impact of all of this on our countryside).

Do you live in or near Hatton Green or Hatton Park?

If so - a reminder about the public meeting being held by your parish council and KHSR on 11th June at 7:30pm at Hatton Village Hall. The purpose of the meeting is to inform residents of the potential impact of the emerging South Warwickshire Local Plan on the area and to obtain your views on the proposals.

Another delay for the SWLP. As we anticipated, the SDC Meeting scheduled for Monday 8 June has been cancelled:

"Following the announcement of a by election in the Kinwarton Ward, to be held on Thursday 9 July, after the resignation of Councillor Thom Holmes (Liberal Democrat), the Chief Executive of Stratford-on-Avon District Council has, due to rules surrounding taking significant decisions during the pre-election period, taken the decision to cancel the Extraordinary Meeting of Council scheduled for Monday 8 June.

The business originally due to be considered at this meeting will now be brought forward to the next ordinary meeting of Council on Monday 13 July.

A further update will be issued next week regarding a revised timetable for consideration of the South Warwickshire Local Plan Regulation consultation. "

**BREAKING NEWS**

We understand this to mean that SDC are now in a pre-election period, which could result in the postponement of the meeting planned for Monday 8 June.

If this happens, the work to refine the SWLP recommended by WDC last Monday (1 June) could be paused, and the date of the Reg 19 consultation could be delayed further.

We'll update as and when we know more.

All recommendations were voted on and carried.

In short, as expected, there was agreement to delay the start of the Regulation 19 consultation. We'll explain why and what it all means in the next day or so on our website.

Warwick District Council will meet this evening at 18:00 (Monday 1 June) to consider the South Warwickshire Local Plan (SWLP), including the recommendations agreed at the Joint Cabinet meeting of Stratford-on-Avon and Warwick District Councils held on Thursday 28 May.

At this stage, a delay to the start of the Regulation 19 consultation is anticipated. This is to allow further work to be carried out in several key areas of the plan.

As ever, there was a lot to take in from this evening’s SWLP Joint Cabinet Committee meeting.

A number of recommendations were agreed - including a review of non-strategic sites - which will now go forward to each council for approval.

In summary, it appears the Regulation 19 Consultation is likely to be delayed until mid-July.

We’ll update savelapworth.com with the full set of recommendations as soon as they are available, and we’ll continue to share any further developments here on Facebook.
