We are the local VCS Infrastructure Organisation for Warwickshire & Solihull, providing vital support to the volunteers, groups, organisations, enterprises and charities who are working to strengthen all of our communities across the region. Every year our dedicated teams of staff and volunteers help lever in significant investment into the county. In 2018/19 the collective value of funding secure

d and volunteering opportunities developed was worth ยฃ2.7 million to the local economy. We were formed in 2008 through the merger of separate 'Councils for Voluntary Service' and 'Volunteer Centres' to provide a single point of access for everyone who wants to engage in community and voluntary action. We have a collective history of over 200 years of supporting local communities to thrive. We are committed to providing all of our services locally and accessibly. Whether you need support accessing volunteering opportunities, developing a community group, accessing funding or strengthening your governance, we have a local office and dedicated team near you.

We're making changes to help residents get the support they need. ๐Ÿค

From 1 September, Solihull Connect will introduce 45-minute appointments for more complex enquiries, giving residents dedicated time with an advisor to discuss their circumstances. ๐Ÿ’ฌ

Appointments will take place on Tuesday afternoons. Residents interested in booking an extended appointment should contact the Solihull Connect team through email or via their phone number. ๐Ÿ“ฑ

Please remember that Tuesday afternoons will become appointment-only, although staff will remain available to triage enquiries and provide advice on the best way to access support.

VCSE organisations and community groups across Solihull are invited to take part in an interactive online workshop to help shape the Solihull VCSE Covenant.

The Covenant sets out Solihull Councilโ€™s commitment to working collaboratively with the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector. The workshop will explore what key values such as trust, understanding and respect, independence, and transparency mean in practice - and how partnership working can be strengthened.

๐Ÿ’ฌ A great opportunity to share your views, experiences and ideas and help shape actions that support better outcomes for Solihull residents.

Trying to book your GP by phone or in person shouldnโ€™t just send you back online.

Our recent report found that around a third of people who tried to book this way were directed to an online form.

We want to know where this is still happening in Birmingham and Solihull. If youโ€™ve been told you need to book online instead, tell us which GP practice you use and what happened.

Your experience will help us identify where people are still having difficulty using alternative ways to book and raise this with the GP Provider Support Unit.
