MEET THE MY TRUST TEAM
Debbie Westwood, Housing Manager, covers our Olton, Shirley, Erdington, Wolverhampton and Kidderminster sites.
She has worked in the housing sector for over 30 years and has been a vital member of the MY Trust team for almost six years. Debbie tells us her time with us has flown by, which she says is a good sign as there’s never time to be bored!
Debbie manages a team of four wellbeing workers, supporting residents to live independently and as full a life as possible through a person-centred approach tailored to meeting individual needs.
She tells us that although her team is small, they have a huge impact and make a real difference to their residents’ lives. She'd like to take this opportunity to thank them for all they do, along with the agencies they work with, including Age UK, occupational therapists, social services, local councils, and GPs.
Debbie said: “My favourite part of the role is moving new residents into good quality homes, where they will be able to live safely, enjoy life and flourish. It is always a pleasure to hand over the keys to a new resident.”
Outside of work, Debbie leads young people’s activity days for her local church and regularly serves breakfasts as a volunteer at a local hostel managed by People and Places. She’s a National Trust member, and loves getting out and about in the fresh air at weekends.
