What a fantastic week at Chop, Chat & Change! 🥕🥦🥔

Last Friday, our amazing volunteers transformed surplus produce that might otherwise have gone to waste into a range of colourful and nutritious stir fry packs, helping to create affordable and convenient food options for the community whilst reducing food waste. 🌶️🍜

This Wednesday, the team were back in action preparing an impressive 70 packs of wedges and 20 packs of sliced onions, all ready to find their way into local kitchens via the Sleaford Community Grocers. 🥔🧅

Alongside the food preparation, we also took some time to reflect on the incredible journey that Chop, Chat & Change has been on. Our volunteers have been sharing their experiences and capturing their stories through individual case studies, highlighting the positive impact the project has had on their lives.

It was inspiring to hear how Chop, Chat & Change has not only benefited those who receive and purchase the food produced, but has also helped volunteers build confidence, develop new skills, make friendships and find a renewed sense of purpose. These stories are a powerful reminder that this project is about so much more than food – it's about people, community and creating opportunities for everyone involved. 💚

Another busy and productive Wednesday at Chop, Chat & Change! 🥔🥕🥦

This week our fantastic volunteers were hard at work creating a range of special stir fry selections, packed full of colour and fresh vegetables, alongside two exciting new flavours of our popular wedges – Caribbean Spice and American BBQ. 🌶️🍟

The team once again transformed surplus produce into affordable, convenient food options for the community, helping to reduce food waste while creating delicious products ready to be enjoyed at Sleaford Community Grocers.

As always, the session was filled with great conversation, plenty of laughter and a wonderful community spirit. It's amazing to see the difference that can be made when people come together to support one another. 💚

Another fantastic Friday at Chop, Chat & Change! 🥕🥦🌶️

Our volunteers were hard at work transforming surplus produce into a range of delicious and practical products for the community. This week's creations included a vibrant and colourful stir fry mix, along with a variety of prepared freezer packs, all ready to be purchased from the Sleaford Community Grocers. 🛒

We were also delighted to welcome some amazing students on placement from InspireU. They got fully involved in the session, helping with preparation, learning new skills and making a valuable contribution to the project. It was wonderful to have their enthusiasm, energy and support as part of the team. 👏

Sessions like these continue to help reduce food waste, create affordable food options and bring people together in a positive and supportive environment. 💚

What a fantastic Wednesday at Chop, Chat & Change! 🥔🙌

This week turned into a mega potato week, with our incredible team of volunteers preparing and transforming over 70KG of potatoes into delicious flavoured wedges and chips for the community.

We were also excited to introduce a brand new flavour this week… Chinese Five Spice and Chips! 🌟🍟

To top it all off, we had our biggest turnout of volunteers ever, which was amazing to see. Thank you to everyone who gave up their time, energy and enthusiasm to make the session such a success. Including our Community Champion Louise from Tesco Superstore. The atmosphere was full of laughter, teamwork and community spirit from start to finish. 💚

This week we also wanted to capture some of the happiness that Chop, Chat & Change brings each week, so make sure you check out one of our very happy volunteers in the pictures! 😊📸

The Wednesday Chop, Chat & Change group have been busy once again, preparing some delicious flavoured wedges for the Sleaford Community Grocers 🥔✨

They’ve also rescued carrots from going to waste, which have now been lovingly peeled, chopped and packed into handy sized frozen packs, perfect to add straight into your shop 🥕❄️

Our new Friday Chop, Chat & Change group is off to a fantastic start! 🎉

It’s been brilliant to see people coming together each week to help reduce food waste and support the local community 💚

Our amazing volunteers have been busy turning surplus food that would otherwise go to waste into frozen prepared packs, ready for people to use at home. From fresh veg mixes to easy meal starters, every pack helps make good food go further. All available from Sleaford Community Grocers 🥕🥔🥦

Thank you as always to North Kesteven District Council for their support via the Rep Fund and to GoGro CIC for your vision behind Chop, Chat & Change.

We still have room for more volunteers, so if you’d like to meet new people, learn new skills, and make a real difference in the community, we’d love to hear from you!
