Recently, something powerful happened right here in Skelmersdale.

Local organisations Shed UK and Roundabout UK brought people together for a live fundraising event. Music, creativity, independent artists, and a community that showed up.

But behind the energy of the night was something much deeper.

The event raised money for New Start Charity and West Lancs Ketamine Awareness. Two causes supporting people through some really difficult, real-life situations.

This is what community looks like when it’s working properly.

Different groups. Different approaches. One shared purpose.

And this is exactly where Rotary fits in.

Not to take over.
Not to lead everything.
But to support, connect and champion the people already doing incredible work. We are proud to have sponsored such an amazing event.

Because real impact doesn’t come from one place.

It comes from people stepping up in their own way, and others backing them.

From fundraising events like this…to school projects, local initiatives, and community support across Skelmersdale… It all connects.

And it only works when people get involved.

No judgement, no fees and no pressure to talk. Just a brew, a biscuit and a safe space to chat.

We now have over 350 groups running across the UK and online, every Monday 7-9PM (excluding bank holidays) for any man 18+.

Skelmersdale Upholland Rotary are proud to support Mim Eaton’s incredible mission to collect essential items for people who need them most.

From May 1st, Mim will be walking 200 miles across Scotland… in her pyjamas to raise awareness and drive donations.

Because behind the challenge is something simple and powerful. Not everyone has access to warmth, comfort, or even basic essentials.

Through this project, Rotary has donated brand-new pyjamas for people of all ages, turning one person’s challenge into real support for others.

This is what Rotary does. Supporting people, backing meaningful projects, and helping good ideas make a real difference.
