Taking part in Remembrance is always a privilege. Alongside the Girlguiding sections and the 1st North Cray Scout Group, we captured some wonderful photos of the Flags on Parade.

We are so proud of all our young people, and a special thank you goes to our Standard Bearer, Chase.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. St James’ Church was full, with our Community coming together to show just how important it is to honour and give thanks to our past, present, and future Service Personnel. We Will Remember Them.

As many of us attend events in recognition of VJ Day 80 years on, one of our Committee Officers writes a few poignant words to those who took part in the War over in the Far East:

To all of the ‘Forgotten Army’ and ‘Forgotten Fleat’. I hope Remembrance makes up for the lack of celebration on your return. I will say little more and post what my husband has posted this morning:

‘Many years ago my Dads friend Gordon gave him this book as a Christmas present . I’ve kept it all these years and it still brings a lump to my throat when I read the inscription on the inside cover😰 never forgotten.’
