Here we are already at the end of September - that time of year again when we restart our series of meetings for the season from October (today) to March next year.
As usual, the Society will continue to meet on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at our venue Sidcup Sports Club in Sydney Road (Crescent Farm, Sydney Road, Sidcup, DA14 6RA).
Our first meeting of the season is Tuesday, 14th October at 7:30pm. The presentation will be “Silvertown Tunnel” - an engineering project which has attracted a lot of interest and concern. For the rest of the season, we have a good variety of lectures across both literature and science, and we plan to have some more outings together in the new year. Have a look at our website for a list of meetings.
On the 14th, please arrive reasonably early because being the first meeting of the year many of you will be wishing to pay your subscriptions.
One more thing - we think that our membership fee of £20 represents excellent value compared to what that sum now buys elsewhere. Members pay no more for 11 meetings. For a single visit, a guest fee is £5 for a meeting.
At our first meeting we hold our EGM at the start of proceedings. Normally lasting less than 10 minutes is to formally receive the accounts for the year to 30th June - our formal end of year.
Please note our website has a lot of information including our programme for the season.
