Shipham Harvest Home Shipam's Harvest Home is being launched in 2022 with a weekend celebrating the Harvest Festival, our rich history and the amazing community we live in.

The Harvest Home will become an annual event raising money for a Village Legacy Fund.

If you're planning to join us for Beat the Bounds on Saturday 4th July, could you do me a tiny favour?

Just leave a comment below with a 👍, "I'm coming!", or "Count me in!"

I know lots of people will simply turn up on the day (which is absolutely fine!), but having a rough idea of numbers will really help with planning.

It's completely FREE, everyone's welcome, and we can't wait to see you there! 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️🌳

Don't forget... we're Beating the Bounds on Saturday 4th July.
We'll be leaving the Green outside the Shipham Inn at 3pm to explore the paths around the Parish, sticking as close as we can to the original Parish boundary... an ideal chance to explore more of our amazing surroundings and visit the legendary 'Wimblestone' (assuming it's there) 😉
..Then, from 7pm, we'll be hosting a community party and BYO picnic on the football pitch with Live Music, Games, Pimms & Prosecco Bar (cash and cards accepted), Disco and Massaoke!

Both events are Free of Charge to attend, but if you enjoy the day, and you're able... you'll be able to show your appreciation with a donation 😉

Things to note ahead of the day:
🚶‍♀️‍➡️The family friendly walk will have various points you can head back into the village if you don't feel able to complete the full circuit. Dogs are welcome. Please wear sensible walking shoes.
🥪 Food in the evening is BYO Picnic... Scooby Snacks may be available later in the evening!
🍺A Harvest Home donation bar is available in the evening so please do not bring your own drinks.

As you can imagine, there's some logistical nightmares involved... so please leave a comment or send a message if you plan to join us... that way we can manage group numbers for the walk and ensure the bar is adequately stocked!! 😉

🥾🌿 Shipham Beat the Bounds 2026 🌿🥾

📍 Shipham Parish

Join us for a wonderful community tradition as we walk the historic boundaries of the parish to "Beat the Bounds" – a centuries-old custom that once helped local people learn and remember the limits of their parish before maps were common.

Today, it's less about checking boundary markers and more about bringing our community together. It's a chance to enjoy the beautiful countryside, discover hidden corners of Shipham, Star and Rowberrow, meet neighbours old and new, celebrate the places we call home and let the children beat some Parish markers with sticks!!

Whether you walk the whole route or just join us for part of the journey, everyone is welcome to take part in this fun, family-friendly event.

🎵 Then from 7:00pm...
Join us at the Football Club for a Community Mid-Summer Community Picnic (BYO Food) featuring:

🎶 Live Music & Disco
🎤 Massaoke
🍻 Bar (cash & Card - please don't BYO drinks)
🎲 Activities including Rounders & Tug of War
😊 Great Company

The event is brought to you by Shipham Harvest Home and is FREE to attend.

However, If you enjoy the day and are able to contribute, donations will be gratefully received to help support future community events.

Come along, make memories, celebrate our local history, and enjoy a fantastic day with friends, family and neighbours.

We need to manage the numbers for the walk and the evening party, so it would be a real help if you can message or comment if you think you'll be joining us.
