Shepton Mallet Lantern Festival

Shepton Mallet Lantern Festival Community events like ours would not happen without the help of our wonderful volunteers, sponsors and supporters.

Please get in touch if you would like to be part of this magical event. The 2025 parade will take place on the evening of Saturday 20th December. The parade starts at 5pm at Collett Park bandstand and makes it's way through the centre of town until it reaches the Market Cross. This year's 4 workshops will be held at , the Amulet in the market square. WORKSHOP DATES
Saturday and Sunday 10.30am - 4

pm
November 29th and 30th
December 6th and 7th. Volunteers will help you make your own willow and tissue paper lanterns
£2 for basic materials kit
children are welcome, under 16 must be supervised

Home kits are available for collection at the Hive and Dredge and Male

Dredge and Male and the Hive have been restocked with Lantern kits if you want to make one at home for the lantern parade this Saturdsy. You will need some watered down pva glue, scissors and lights for inside .

We’ve extended the lantern making workshops this year to give everyone a chance to come along and join in the fun of creating a beautiful lantern to light up the sky in Shepton Mallet on Saturday the 20th.
The workshops are being held at the Amulet this coming Saturday and Sunday from 10.30am until 4pm. We will look forward to seeing you there!
