Baraka Community Partnerships

Baraka Community Partnerships Baraka Community Partnerships is a charity based in the UK and Canada with projects in Zambia & Laos.

Approximately 80% of our funding is allocated towards education in the form of school infrastrucutre (classrooms, school toilets, dormitories, educational resources etc.) and a sponsorship programme that gets kids back into school and sends children to college and university. In 2018 we started building a Learning Centre in the Central Province of Zambia which is now providing first class resource

s and teaching for thousands of children in the vicinity and beyond. The remainder of our funding supports water, sanitation and health programmes in both Zambia and Laos.

Yesterday, the Baraka Zambia team joined the world in commemorating Menstrual Hygiene Management Day at Baraka Zambia. The event, hosted at Baraka Primary School, brought together 250 girls from Baraka Safe House, Baraka Secondary School, Baraka Primary School, and William Reid School. Health personnel attended the event and shared valuable information on menstrual hygiene management, making the day both educational and enjoyable. The event also marked the official opening of the girlsโ€™ washroom, an important step in promoting hygiene, dignity, and a safe learning environment for girls.

A Crystal Palace pizza party night last night at the home of our Baraka Zambia Director Andrew Tembo. We are not sure how a couple of Sunderland supporters sneaked in but at least they wore the Palace shirt. As part of our diversity and inclusion policy, we do employee non Crystal Palace fans in Zambia, though Palace are the official team of Baraka Zambia! Congratulations to the Eagles on last night's Euro glory from all in Zambia.

The Baraka management team took a tour to William Reid Primary School and Mount Camel Secondary School. We are happy to have built and maintained a strong relationship with both schools through the support we have continued to provide over time. The visit was an opportunity to strengthen our partnership, interact with staff and learners and plan the next phase of support for these under-resourced schools ๐Ÿšธ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿซ
