A little taste of Italy is coming to Nourish Hub!

Have you booked your place at our Italian Supper Club yet? 🍝🍷✨

We’re getting closer, but we still have seats to fill and we would LOVE to see a full Hub for the first evening in our new Supper Club series! ❤️

Come along with friends, family or colleagues and enjoy a relaxed evening of delicious Italian-inspired food, starting with a welcome drink/mocktail and followed by a three-course meal lovingly prepared by our kitchen team.

But this evening is about more than great food.

By buying a ticket, you’ll also be supporting the charitable work of Nourish Hub and UKHarvest, helping us continue bringing people together through food, tackling food waste and supporting our community. 💚

This week, our Nourish Hub team was at Kensington Palace catering a Turning Point event!

Our team brought along a selection of food for guests to enjoy throughout the event, with plenty happening behind the scenes to get everything ready and served. It was a lovely day for the team, and definitely a memorable setting to be working in.

We’re always grateful for the opportunities to take what we do at Nourish Hub to different spaces and events across London.

🚐 Volunteer Van Driver Wanted - Join the Nourish Hub Team! 💚

Do you enjoy driving, meeting people and want to use a few hours of your time to make a real difference in your community?

We’re looking for a friendly and reliable Volunteer Driver to join the Nourish Hub team.

A big part of the role will be supporting our food rescue work - collecting surplus food and produce from our partners and helping us get it back to the Hub, where our team can put it to good use rather than letting good food go to waste. 🥕🍎♻️

You may also help us with deliveries and collections, as well as transporting food, equipment or resources when we're out and about delivering events, catering and external education sessions.

It’s a varied, practical role and a great opportunity to get involved behind the scenes in the work we do across Nourish Hub and UKHarvest.

If you’re a confident driver, reliable, happy to get stuck in and passionate about supporting your local community and reducing food waste, we’d love to hear from you!

🌱 Green Business of the Year finalists! 💚

We might not have taken home the trophy this time, but we’re incredibly proud that Nourish Hub was shortlisted from more than 140 applications for the Green Business of the Year Award! 🏆🌍

We were delighted to be shortlisted alongside Chorus Agency, Mercure London Earls Court Hotel and Our Planet Needs You - fantastic company to be in.

For us, this recognition is also a celebration of our brilliant team, volunteers, partners and community, who help us every day in our mission to reduce food waste and food insecurity while bringing people together through food. 🥕♻️💚

Andreea and Poppy had the pleasure of representing Nourish Hub at the awards at the Civic Centre, where 19 local businesses were crowned winners following judging by 24 experts from the local business community.

A big thank you to Hammersmith & Fulham Council for bringing everyone together for such a wonderful celebration - and congratulations to all the winners and finalists! 🎉

We’re excited to launch our very first Supper Club - and we’d love you to join us for an Italian-inspired evening at Nourish Hub.

🎒💚 That back-to-school feeling…

With September here and everyone settling back into school, college and their usual routines, we’ve been thinking fondly about two young people who became part of the Nourish Hub team over the summer - Dennys and Rania, who joined us for their work experience placements.

And they certainly didn’t spend their time just watching from the sidelines! 😊

During their placements, Dennys and Rania got involved across the Hub - helping in the office, supporting our kitchen team, getting stuck into Front of House, helping with deliveries, and experiencing many of the different things that happen behind the scenes to keep a busy community hub running.

They approached their placements with enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved, and it was a real pleasure having them as part of the team.

Work experience is about much more than learning how to do a particular task. We hope their time with us helped them build confidence, experience working as part of a team, communicate with lots of different people and get a better understanding of the many roles that come together within an organisation like Nourish Hub. 🌱

As they head back to their studies, we hope some of what they learned and experienced here will stay with them and be useful wherever their next steps take them.

September is Food Waste Awareness Month, and at Nourish Hub, reducing food waste is part of what we do every day.

We work with surplus food that might otherwise go to waste and turn it into nutritious, affordable meals for our community. From preparing meals in our kitchen to using ingredients thoughtfully, Nourish Hub shows how much can be done with food that still has plenty of life left in it.

Food waste is a huge issue, but small changes in the way we shop, cook, share, and use food can make a real difference.

This month, we’re celebrating the food that gets saved, the meals that get made, and the people who make it all possible. ♻️

☀️💚 It takes a team… and what a team we’ve had this summer!

Summer is always a busy time at Nourish Hub. Between well-earned holidays, our regular Community Lunches and a packed programme of education sessions and activities, there have been plenty of moments when we’ve needed an extra pair of hands in the kitchen.

And every time, people have stepped up. ❤️

We want to say a huge THANK YOU to all of our wonderful staff, work experience students and volunteers who have rolled up their sleeves and helped us keep things running - prepping, chopping, washing up, serving, supporting our chefs and doing whatever was needed on the day.

We’d also like to give a very special shout-out to Nikki, Clare, Mohammed, Jo and Heidi, who have been absolutely fantastic in stepping into the kitchen and helping cover our chefs while they were on leave or busy delivering education sessions.

Your flexibility, generosity and willingness to jump in have made such a difference - not only to our team, but to everyone who comes through the doors of Nourish Hub.

Behind every Community Lunch, cookery session and plate of food is a whole team of people making it happen. This summer has been a brilliant reminder of just how lucky we are to have such a supportive community around us. 🥕👩‍🍳💚

To everyone who stepped in, stayed a little longer, took on something extra or simply asked, “What can I do to help?” - thank you. We couldn’t do what we do without you.

💚 A little thank you to the people who help us behind the scenes…

Keeping Nourish Hub running, welcoming and safe takes a community – and we’re very fortunate to have local organisations and partners who are always willing to lend a hand when we need it.

Most recently, a big thank you to the teams at ISS and Westfield London, who supported us with Heras fencing so that we could safely secure and protect our Community Garden during the Notting Hill Carnival weekend. 🌱

It might seem like a small thing, but practical support like this makes a real difference. It helps us look after our space, protect the garden that our community enjoys, and keep everything running safely.

And this is just one example of the many ways local organisations support Nourish Hub throughout the year – sometimes with equipment or resources, sometimes with expertise, and sometimes simply by stepping in when we need an extra pair of hands.

We really appreciate being part of a community where organisations look out for one another. 💚
