We are recruiting volunteers to help at GIRLS+ ROCK! SHEFFIELD Rock Camp, which is starting on Saturday September 5th.
We are a DIY grassroots non profit org dedicated to empowering girls+ and gender diverse youth through music. There are lots of different roles, but we are particularly looking for band coaches to help mentor the bands. Link in bio or follow the QR code here for more info. Thank you! 💜⚡️

We need help from all you talented folks to make sure we can pull this off. We’re looking for:
- band coaches,
- sound engineers
- workshop facilitators (screen printing, zine making, feminism 101, women in music history etc)
- communications/marketing wizards,
- assistance with events & fundraising,
- help with non-profit administration and new board members.

We are working hard on securing funding for this project - it is our aim (but not currently guaranteed !) to pay those in roles that have considerable time commitments (e.g. band coaches and workshop facilitators)

Please be absolutely clear - Trans+, non-binary and gender expansive folks are beyond welcome! We love you and want you on our team.

A huge thanks to and for hosting us. We are so excited to be working with these thoroughly decent people who share our values in raising the voices of marginalised genders in the music industry.

Starting September 5th for 12 weeks, we’ll be empowering girls+ and gender diverse youth at our Rock Camp. Fees are on a sliding scale and free bursary places will be available.

Follow the QR code or link in bio for all the info you need. Still got questions? DM or Email us, we’d love to hear from you! 🫶💜⚡️

We support and celebrate diversity at girlsrock_sheffield and creating a safe space for gender minorities is at the top of our list. 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

It’s been a tough couple of years for trans and non binary youth. We want to make it clear that girlsrock_sheffield is open to all women and girls, non binary and gender expansive youth. This is an inclusive space. Our feminism is intersectional and welcoming. That plus sign is small, but mighty!

We have close ties to the amazing LGBTQ+ youth charity SAYiT Sheffield and we are super excited to be part of Youth Pride this year ✨

Come by and say hello, learn more about what we do, and check out all the other great stuff happening at Youth Pride - art, stalls, music, games and more!

Saturday 27th June 2026
12-4pm
Workstation, Sheffield.

A HUGE highlight of the for us over at was seeing the amazing Anna jump up on stage and play drums like a total legend with the .knees crew.

Giving Girls+ and gender diverse youth opportunities like this is what we are all about, what we want to see more of and what we will keep fighting for. Gender inequalities are rampant in every sector of the music industry. Let’s work together to readdress the balance and raise the voices of women, girls and gender minorities - representation matters, we belong on stage! ⚡️💜

Thank you .knees for creating this awesome moment 🫶

THIS is what community looks like! We are so grateful for all the love and support from the community. Thank you from the bottom of our riot grrrl hearts! 💜
Thank you to everyone who bought a ticket, came to visit us at our table, bought badges, patches or vintage from us or gave a donation. Thanks to the venue for hosting and the BIGGEST thank you of all to .skunk.jpg and .knees for all the hard work you all put in to make this festival happen and bring us into the fold.

KINDNESS IS PUNK!!! ⚡️

Side note: we raised another £120 at our table on the day, so the grand total is almost £2,000. 🫶

For anyone who didn’t get chance to donate on the day, but would like to support us, we will be launching a crowdfunding campaign very soon!
