Pringle

This handsome ginger-and-white boy is Pringle, and honestly, one look at those big green eyes and you'll understand why we're smitten. Pringle has real presence — he'll fix you with that soulful, attentive stare (he's clearly very good at getting exactly what he wants) and then, just as quickly, turn to survey his kingdom from whatever perch he's claimed as his own.

He's a striking lad — not a whisker out of place. Pringle loves to get up high, whether that's a cosy spot on the cat tree or keeping watch over his surroundings from a favourite ledge, and he's not shy about posing for the camera once he's settled.

Underneath that confident exterior is a real softie. Pringle enjoys nothing more than a bit of quiet attention and will happily hold a gaze with you all day if you let him. He's looking for a patient, loving home where he can continue to come out of his shell and show just how affectionate he can be.

Got some spare time on Sunday 9 August 2026?

Ever considered volunteering to help cats, but wasn't sure if you'd like it? Or only have a few hours and can't commit to a permanent volunteer role?

We've got a fundraising event on Sunday 9 August and we're looking for volunteers who can give a few hours to help. Come along and meet our friendly team, and 'try out' volunteering with us!

Every year on 16 June, we celebrate Mature Moggies Day to champion mature and senior cats over the age of 11!

Today we’re spotlighting two mature moggies in our care!

First up is Del Boy, if you are looking for a senior catizen with a sprinkle of flair and cattitude look no further! He loves to be with his favourite carers having a fuss or on your lap cuddle, but he equally enjoys his space and time to himself. We think he would love a relaxed and quiet home where he can really pop his paws up and enjoy the finer things in life. He does have heart murmur, at present no treatment is advised, but he should be monitored for progression of the disease.

Next we have the loveable Muta. She is a real sweetheart, who loves to be with her people and the quiet relaxed life. She does have a heart murmur but this doesn't affect her - it just means she will need checks with the vet more to keep an eye on it as she gets older.

💙 Volunteers’ Week 2026 💙

This Volunteers’ Week, we’d like to say a huge THANK YOU to our incredible volunteers.

Whether you foster cats, help at events, transport cats to appointments, support fundraising activities, assist with administration, or give your time in countless other ways, your dedication makes an enormous difference to the cats and kittens in our care.

As a small token of our appreciation, we’ve sent each of our volunteers a card and gift to recognise the time, compassion and commitment they show throughout the year.

Quite simply, we couldn't do what we do without you. Thank you for helping us give cats a second chance and for being such an important part of our team. 🐾

🌷 What is an Open Garden and the National Garden Scheme? 🌷

The National Garden Scheme invites members of the public to open their gardens to visitors across England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands.

Through a small admission fee, the money raised by the NGS goes to charities such as Carer’s Trust, Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie, Hospice UK, Parkinson’s UK and The Queen’s Institute of Community Nursing.

🐱 What about Cats Protection? 🐱

All the money raised from the refreshments at the Open Garden in Sheff goes to our very own Cats Protection Sheffield and District branch!

🪻Why visit this Open Garden? 🪻

Because it’s great! The sheff Open Garden is a beautiful and calm space. Take your time walking around this suburban garden, enjoy and brew and a delicious homemade cake (vegan and gluten-free options are available)

You can also learn about the history of the garden! The house has remained in the owner’s family for generations, and includes original plants that were first established in the 1930s!

📣📣 MISSING CAT - PLEASE SHARE

OBERON IS MISSING FROM CROFT ROAD, HOYLAND IN BARNSLEY - OWNERS OFFERING £100 REWARD FOR HOS SAFE RETURN

He’s an indoor cat, he is 14 and a half years old and he was asleep in bed and when his owners woke up he was gone. He escaped completely by accident through an open window at 4:05am on 08/04/2026.

Please check sheds, garages and outbuildings. He's good with dogs, other cats and people, he’s very friendly.

He is wearing a fluorescent green collar with reflective cats and stars on it. It also has a gold and black charm of moon with a cat sat on it and a green bell hanging from the collar. Although the bell and charm may have fallen off by now.

Please DO NOT feed him. He is food motivated and if you feed him he won’t come home. He is also an elderly cat with dietary restrictions.

If you have Oberon in your home please contact the number in the image. Alternatively please hand him in at Abby Vets in Hoyland.

He is very much loved, well fed, looked after, spoilt rotten, fully vaccinated, medicated and neutered.

April marks Stress Awareness Month, so in today’s post we’ve highlighted some of the easily missed signs of stress in cats.

Cats are subtle animals and it can be tricky to tell if your cat is stressed out. In fact, the domestic cat can be great at hiding signs of stress or signs that they’re in pain, it’s in their nature. In the wild, this would help them avoid becoming an easy target for predators!

Some of the changes you might see if your cat is feeling stressed can include

⏰ Changes to their habits
🛁 Changes to their hygiene
💔 Changes to their interactions
