Beighton WI.

Beighton WI. Welcome to Beighton WI, based in the Limes community centre, Lime Street, Beighton. We meet the second Wednesday of each month, 7.00pm untill 9.00pm.

Beighton WI, Women's Institute, is a British community- based organisation for women. The WI movement was formed in 1915 in Llandfairpwllgwyngyll, Anglesey Wales. It had two clear aims: to revitalise rural communities and to encourage women to become more involved in producing food during the First World War. Since then the organisations aims have broadened and it is now the largest women's volun

tary organisation, in the UK. Beighton WI is part of the Derbyshire federation of Women's Institutes. We welcome all new visitors and members with a smile, we have speakers on all different subjects, a craft group, monthly lunches, quarterly coffee mornings, and we also do a MacMillan coffee morning. From two observers we have been told the WI is an exceptional community full of fun, laughter and strong women. One young woman told us "I love the atmosphere, as soon as you enter the room your filled with joy and seeing a perfect community of people before your very eyes is fantastic!"

Please feel free to contact us if you are interested in joining our community or for more information about what the WI community is and what we do.
