🌍 Call for nominations: Join the PEFC Sustainable Forest Management Working Group

PEFC is inviting stakeholders worldwide to nominate candidates for its Sustainable Forest Management Working Group (SFM WG).

We are currently looking to fill a limited number of seats across stakeholder categories, including:
🌲 Forest owners, managers, and forest-based industry
🔍 Certification bodies, PEFC scheme assessors, accreditation bodies, and consultants
🤝 Civil society representatives, including Indigenous Peoples, workers and trade unions, scientists, and environmental and social groups

The SFM WG plays a key role in developing PEFC standards, including recent alignment of the PEFC Sustainable Forest Management standard with the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) and addressing related emerging gaps and opportunities.

Established in early 2024, the group is currently finalising an additional appendix to PEFC SFM standard, focusing on the development of safeguards and advanced requirements to address forest conversion between 2010 (the original PEFC cut-off date) and 2020 (the EUDR cut-off date).

A big thank you to everyone who joined us for our tree planting day yesterday. It was fantastic to bring together our certificate holders to celebrate PEFC UK’s 25th anniversary and plant some of the trees we have donated to The National Forest
