It's that time of year again, dosen't it go by so quickly? The date for Wonderfully Made in Yorkshire at Silkstone Parish Church 2026 is going to be Friday 30th October - Sunday 1st November 2026. Booking forms will be live on here on Wednesday 1st April with applications closing on Thursday 30th April.

It's not long now until the booking forms go live for this years Made in Yorkshire at Silkstone Parish Church. Here are a few things to help you get ready.

1. Photographs to send along with your application, good clear photos of your products are essential, applications without clear pictures of products will not be considered.

2. Make a note of your social media details. Should your appliaction be successsful we will be promoting your business on our social media platforms. It's essential that we all do our bit on our socails to get this event promoted and advertised as much as possible.

3. Save the dates in your diary, Set up day this year will strictly be 29th October.

Dont forget applications go live on 1st April 2026.

Are you part of a Women’s Institute group that loves to sew, knit, crochet, or craft for a cause?

We’d love to invite your group to join the Caps of Courage project, a volunteer-led initiative supported by Lions Clubs International, creating handmade hats and patchwork quilts for children and young people undergoing cancer treatment across the UK. 💛

Every soft cap and quilt we donate brings warmth, comfort, and a sense of hope during a very difficult time in a young person’s life.

👒 How your WI group can help:
✅ Knit, sew or crochet hats
✅ Make child-sized patchwork quilts
✅ Share our project with others
✅ Help label, package and spread the word

We can even supply some fabric if your group would like to get involved but needs materials to get started.

A Small Gesture with a Big Impact 💙

Could you be our next knitting hero?

We’re looking for kind hearted knitters to help us create knitted hearts, small tokens of comfort that are shared with patients and their loved ones during some of life’s most difficult moments.

These little hearts are used across Barnsley Hospital, offering a sense of connection, care, and comfort when words aren’t always enough. A simple knitted heart can bring warmth, hope, and reassurance reminding someone they’re not alone.
