✨ It may have taken me a little while to get this post up, but we were absolutely delighted to welcome Anushka Price, our National Lottery Reaching Communities Funding Officer, to Parson Cross Forum! πŸ’™πŸŽ‰

It was a fantastic opportunity for Anushka to meet our amazing staff, dedicated volunteers and, of course, our wonderful Memory Café members. ❀️

During her visit, she was able to see first-hand how the funding is making a real difference to people's lives. She spent time chatting with our Memory Café members, hearing their stories, sharing plenty of smiles and laughter 😊, and catching up with the Forum team about the work we do to support people living with dementia and their carers.

Visits like this are so important as they give our funders the opportunity to see the impact their support has on our community every single week. 🌟

A huge thank you to Anushka for taking the time to visit us – it was a pleasure to welcome you, and we hope you enjoyed seeing our Memory CafΓ© in action! πŸ’™

Finally, we'd like to say a heartfelt thank you to The National Lottery Community Fund and everyone who plays the National Lottery. 🎟️ Without your continued support, projects like our Memory CafΓ© simply wouldn't be possible. Together, you're helping us reduce isolation, create friendships, support people living with dementia and their carers, and make a real difference in our community. πŸ’›

🎨What a fantastic morning at our Open Door Art Project!🍦

Our talented members have been getting into the summer spirit today by creating these amazing colourful ice cream paintings, and we think they've done an incredible job! 🌞🍨

The creativity, imagination and attention to detail on display was wonderful to see, with everyone putting their own unique spin on their artwork. From mint choc chip to raspberry ripple and chocolate delights, each piece is as individual as the artist who created it. πŸ’šπŸ“πŸ«

Our Open Door Art Project provides a welcoming and inclusive space for adults with learning disabilities and their carers to explore their creativity, build confidence, make friends and most importantly, have fun together.

A huge well done to everyone who took part today – we're so proud of what you've created and can't wait to see what masterpieces come next! ❀️

Which ice cream would you choose? Let us know in the comments! πŸ¦πŸ‘‡

JABADAO with a Difference

A huge thank you to Tommy Frank from Tommy Frank Boxing Academy for delivering such a fantastic non-contact boxing fitness session with our JABADAO members this week.

There was so much laughter, encouragement and smiling faces as everyone joined in with a mixture of gentle seated exercises, fun boxing drills and pad work. The room was full of energy, and it was wonderful to see people living with later-stage dementia engaging in an activity that was not only enjoyable but also so beneficial.

Everyone had an amazing time! It was lovely to see members, carers, our volunteers and staff all getting involved, cheering each other on and sharing plenty of laughs along the way.

At our JABADAO sessions, it's all about communicating through movement and music, creating moments of joy and helping people living with dementia continue to connect with those around them in ways that words sometimes can't.

A huge thank you again to Tommy for bringing so much enthusiasm, patience and fun to the session. We can't wait to welcome you back!

We'd also like to thank The National Lottery Community Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players, this project is able to continue providing meaningful activities and support for people living with dementia and their families. πŸ’™
