Music:SouthYorkshire represents the South Yorkshire Music Board to signpost artists and industry in the region to funding opportunities, advice and more. If you’re experiencing any barriers to progressing your business or career, if you want advice on next steps or want to find out what funding is available for projects, touring, exporting etc then please do follow us and get in touch. South Yorkshire Music Board exists for the benefit of South Yorkshires music industry so make sure you let us know all about you. The board wants to ensure you have all the tools at your disposal to create, perform, learn and teach. We will represent your interests to ensure any support is available to our region and aim to broaden the focus away from London and to the working heart of the industry in the regions. The music board was formed by Mayor Dan Jarvis MP in 2018 and has at its core a small number of experienced and passionate industry practitioners including label owners, festival directors, artists and educators, as well as additional members from national membership and representational groups such as the Musicians Union, Performing Rights Society and regional MPs. Music:SouthYorkshire is delivered in partnership between the music board and Music Local.

Sheffield Music Hub is delighted to be recruiting 9 new Music Tutors to join our award-winning team.

As demand for our music education programmes continues to grow across the city, we're looking for passionate and experienced musicians and music educators to help inspire the next generation of young musicians.

We're currently recruiting tutors in:

Drums
Piano / Keys
Vocal / Singing
Guitar
Woodwind
Rap & Music Production
Brass

These salaried roles are available between 1 and 4 days per week, depending on demand, and include a mixture of:

Specialist instrumental and vocal teaching
Whole-class music teaching
Ensemble and group direction

At Sheffield Music Hub, we are ambitious about reaching children and young people in every corner of Sheffield, creating inclusive opportunities and supporting progression at every stage of their musical journey.

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and are committed to building a diverse workforce that reflects the communities we serve.

You’re chasing down an illegal all-night warehouse party, caught between promoters, pirate radio, the police and the crowd, as the music and the moment build around you.

You don’t watch Beats, you’re in it. Room-scale VR puts you on your feet and inside the night: the car, the motorway service station, the rave. It moves through the people who made the era, promoters, police, pirate radio stations and rave-goers, and the relationships that drove a cultural shift.

The soundtrack carries it. Orbital’s “Chime” and Joey Beltram’s “Energy Flash” play through a meticulously built world. The experience is fully interactive, designed to land somewhere between a memory and the real thing.

Exciting news! We are hosting our first-ever KS5 Music Open Evening with providers from across the city.

Tuesday 20th October
6:30pm - 7:30pm
All Saints Catholic High School, Granville Road, Sheffield, S2 2RJ

Sheffield Music Hub is committed to supporting young musicians as they transition from GCSE and BTEC Music in years 10 and 11 to A Level or further BTEC Music in Years 12 and 13. It can be difficult to know what opportunities are available to continue studying music after GCSE, so we want to help young people explore the different sixth forms and colleges across Sheffield that offer music courses.

This is our first KS5 Music Open Evening, and we hope it will become a regular fixture in the Sheffield Music Hub calendar.

GCSE and BTEC Music numbers in Sheffield have been rising over the past two years, and we are proud to be a city that is bucking the national trend. Something exciting is happening, and we want to help young musicians continue that momentum as they move into post-16 education.
