We are now a collection point for the Every Disc Makes a Difference campaign run by Up For Yorkshire! This campaign is for collecting and recycling old CDs, DVDs, Blu-Rays and game console discs to raise money for local causes 💿

When you next pop into our community café for a cuppa, why not bring some of your old discs and drop them in our collection box? Good for you, good for the community, good for the planet! 🌟

❗️Quick one to say that unfortunately we've had to cancel this week's ZONE! Sad face.
It'll be back on 10th September though. Happy face!

Meanwhile for any teens that are interested - Quiet Pride will be running at Community House at 3:30-5:30pm on Thursday. This is a great chance to explore thoughts and feelings 🌈

BSL with Sarah-jade (and Alice lurking in a corner) is still on at 3:30pm on Friday 👍

Good news everyone! 🤩

We've reduced the age requirement for our youth projects to 10!

This means Thursday ZONEs (fortnightly, 3:00-5:30pm) and Friday BSL Drop-ins (weekly, 3:30-4:30pm)* are open for ages 10 to 18.

This is a great opportunity for year 5 and 6 students to get in the mix and help prepare them for high school life (and have fun to boot!).

Parents, if you're sending your kids along please note that we'll require emergency contact details. The easiest way to do that is to send a text to Alice on 07707 369 859 and say "I'm [name's] guardian" with any dietary requirements and any other appropriate info you feel we need to know. 🤝

*NO BSL DROP IN ON FRIDAY 7TH AUGUST, but they'll then be running until the end of September before Sarah-jade takes maternity leave 🙂

Happy Summer Holidays everyone! Some dates to note:

Ash won't be in for Doodle on 21st July but it's back as normal from the week after!

The community cafe will be closed on Monday 27th July. We might have the other odd closures over the Summer as our volunteers enjoy their muchly deserved holibobs, but we'll try give as much notice as possible :-)

Alice says "Pride month has come to an end but our rainbow still flies high as a reminder that there are those who still feel unable to be who they are.
There are those who can't love themselves let alone another person and thats heartbreaking. So let's always be kind. We're all navigating this world the best we can so let's do it with inclusivity, empathy and compassion.
On that note, July represents a month of Disability Pride so here's a shout out to all the members of our community celebrating that!" ❤️
