Our Space - Selby Our Space is a community hub on Flaxley Road, created with support from Selby Big Local and National Lottery Community Fund. Visit us to get involved!

We’re here to connect, create, and bring the community together through events, activities, and support. Our community has got £1 million from the Lottery. Everyone who lives here decides how the money should be spent to make this a better place to live and tackle the issues we think are most
important.

Our cafe won't be open tomorrow morning due to an unusual instance of low staffing BUT the mural design workshop for 11 to 18 year olds is still running 1-3pm!
Normal cafe service resumes from Thursday 😊

Once again we're looking for donations of bottled items - drinks, sauces, bubble bath, smellies etc for our Fun Day Fundraiser!

New Youth Club in Selby! 🙌

We’re excited to launch a FREE British Sign Language Youth Club for secondary school age (11–16)!

📍 Flaxley Road, Selby
🕒 Every Friday, 3:30–4:30pm

What to expect:
👉 30 mins BSL lesson
👉 15 mins games (bingo, card games & more!)
👉 15 mins choir – learn songs through BSL 🎶

A fun, relaxed space to make friends, learn something new, and be yourself 💙
No experience needed – just come along!

More fun for teenagers this half term! 🤩

Join us on Wednesday 27th May 1pm-3pm to help us come up with a brand new wall mural for our community cafe!

No booking required.

We'll then be painting over the weekend of 20th/21st June, and you can sign up for that during our workshop. Lunch will be included on the painting days 😋

These past 3 years have been amazing 🎉

I’ve met so many incredible people and been part of some brilliant projects. It’s been so inspiring to see people of all ages wanting to learn BSL.

I’ve taught under 5s, nursery groups, worked with the youth club at Our Space, run sessions at places like Selby Library, The Painting Pot and Brownies as well as BSL Choirs and Bootcamps.

I’m so proud of how far this journey has come — and I can’t wait to keep growing 💛
