Sometimes a CIC just isn't the right business model for you and I'm not afraid to say it. Brutally honest I think they call it 🙈😂

Another great meeting today with CIC Start Collabs. Talking Business Planning, cash flow and client base. Really important things to consider from the outset 💯

With every business I meet I learn so much and I hope they come away being clearer about the future and ideas for a way forward.

Still on a high from yesterday 🙌

Look at these wonderful women, supporting one another, cheering each other on. Sarah Bogg Fiercely Empowered and Lilly’s Treasures it was so refreshing to hear you laughing, chatting and supporting one another while you were each waiting to do your pitch 💕

That's what it's all about isn't it. We're all in business but we can still lift each other up.

I can honestly say since being part of Yorkshire Coast Connections being based in their hub, all I get is positivity and support. Got an idea, let's make it happen! Got a problem, let's solve it together.

Can any of our followers help Lilly the red tailed boa & reptile rescue cic reach their target?

This is such an amazing local CIC that does so much for our community. I know young people that have gained so much confidence from work olacements there.

They also often attend local charities to support their events for free.

Skillswithlils has already said she will donate. Coastal Chapters will donate too. Can we find others?

It's been one of those days. The kind where you try to find the energy to do the work, whatever you're going through, because that's what running a business asks of you. But sometimes you just have to pause...

Last night I lost another family member, my Uncle Peter. He was an absolute star 🌟 and I mean that literally! I sometimes think it's where my ambition comes from. We spent a lot of time together when I was younger, usually with me perched on the piano lid while he tried (in vain) to teach me to play. I always ended up shaking a tambourine instead while he sang along.

My uncle, Peter Allatt, was a vocalist in a 70s band that made the Top 40 and was played on the radio back in the day. Their original name, The Heatwave, is even on the wall of The Cavern Club in Liverpool. He met The Beatles and got to do so many amazing things. The band later became The Sensation, and every now and then I listen to his favourite song and smile. I found it on YouTube, so give it a listen 🎶

So much of what I do in business comes from how I was brought up: to keep trying, keep growing and learning along the way, and above all try and bring a little joy to people in any way you can.

Another fab first meeting for CIC Start Collabs today and this time it was with the lovely Tracy from The Yorkshire Care Alliance 🙌

So many plans to get working on, very exciting.

When you meet like-minded organisations with a shared purpose it feels so easy to collaborate and support one another. It shouldn't feel like competition, just open conversation 💯

I'm taking a little break for the next few days but I'm already excited to meet up with David Ruston and team next week 👌

Today has been all about CIC Start Collabs - Month One 💛

I've spent the day with members who are setting up new CICs or thinking about it, and we've been building their plans together.

It's been a real eye-opener 👀

I'll be honest, there are days when I doubt myself and wonder whether I have anything valuable to offer beyond a listening ear (which, for the record, is still hugely valuable!).

Then I remember that every mistake and every success along the way has taught me something. Those lessons are exactly what I get to pass on.

The plans we've put together today are genuinely exciting. There's so much brilliant work happening in our community, and knowing that CIC Start Collabs can help these organisations grow stronger and achieve what they're setting out to do makes my heart very full.

Perfect isn't the goal. Starting is 🙌💯
