Well, the Big Pride Picnic has gotten like… really BIG!!

We’re so excited to see you tomorrow and celebrate Pride Month ahead of our main event on September 12th.

Some reminders:

🧺- Bring food, there will be no catering trucks and if you’re baking and sharing, please make a note of any allergens

🎤- We’ve got a live set from our friend Andrew Willis, but if you want to sing, drop us an email and we’ll see if we can give you a slot

🚫- As a licensed venue, only alcohol bought on the premises can be consumed. Please don’t bring your own - Admin will confiscate and save for Christmas

☂️- There’s a minuscule chance of rain (thanks to Sue 😉) but it should be largely dry.. bring a blanket and a brolly just in case

🌈- Dress with Pride and bring the rainbow!

Scarborough will be celebrating Pride Month with a relaxed and welcoming community picnic in the beautiful surroundings of Woodend Gardens.

🕛 12:00pm – 4:00pm

Everyone is invited to come together for an afternoon of friendship, inclusion and celebration.

🥪 Bring along a picnic and enjoy the atmosphere 🎶 Acoustic music and entertainment 🎨 Activities for all ages 🌞 Summer solstice vibes in a beautiful outdoor setting 🏳️‍🌈 A chance to celebrate diversity, equality and community

Whether attending with friends, family or on their own, visitors can expect a friendly and inclusive event filled with positivity, conversation and Pride spirit.

A great group to be involved with for those who are 50+ in the community…

Join us on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month 3.00 pm - 4.30 pm for our LGBTQIA+ meet up for those 50 & over.

Have a voice in your community whilst meeting people in a safe and accessible space.

The Big Pride Picnic

With just one week to go, and quite a big crowd coming, we thought we’d share a few more details..

🥪🥗🧺 Please do bring food for yourself to nibble on. But if you’re feeling generous and want to share, please list any allergens on homemade goods to keep everyone safe

🍻🍷🍾 Only alcohol purchased from the bar can be consumed on the premises, it’s the law 😔! Feel free to bring soft drinks and water

🔈🎤🎶 We’ll have a chilled playlist and a couple of live acoustic sets, nothing big. But we’d welcome a good old sing along!

☂️☀️The weather is looking ok, so bring what you need.. umbrella, factor 50? Who knows! Do also bring your picnic blanket, chairs will be in very short supply

🧑‍🦽‍➡️ The garden itself is accessible, but the accessible toilets are in the main building which you have to get to by going back to the main entrance

🧑‍🧑‍🧒🧑‍🧒‍🧒🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒 It’s a family friendly event, children are welcome, but please order enough tickets to cover them too

🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️🌈 Finally, it’s our first go at this! We’re not making it too fancy but we’d love your feedback after the event to see what we could do next year!! Also, if you want to donate to help us to put more free events on throughout the year, please bring your spare change (or notes)😊
