The beautiful Cloisters of Salisbury Cathedral will again be the stunning location for a
fabulous Christmas Fair that’s being organised by the Friends of Salisbury Cathedral School. Taking place from 11am to 3pm on Saturday, November 21st, the fair will showcase the products of more than 45 high quality traders selling everything from vintage items to spectacular flowers and luxurious cashmere as
well as a mouthwatering selection of food and drink. Many of the traders are new to this event and between them offer an exclusive and eclectic range of gifts that will give even the most discerning of customers a headstart on the Christmas shopping. In addition, a percentage of proceeds from the fair will be donated to the Shree Mahendra Higher Secondary School in Nepal supporting their earthquake recovery, with the remainder being used by the Friends to fund additional projects around Salisbury Cathedral School. Organised entirely by the Friends of Salisbury Cathedral School the fair will feature an impressive group of people offering high quality gift ideas and food. Traders include distinguished men’s tailor Regent, flamboyant local florist Jude Searle, vintage box artists Weevil & Bird and glass ornament designer Linda Rowe. On the food front there are award-winning artisan cheeses from Loosehanger and Chalke Valley Farm, Old English Plum Puddings, homemade jams and chutneys by Pig ‘n’ Pickles, gourmet marshmallows and honey nougat by Miss Marshmellow and mouthwatering indian cookery and condiments from Pure Punjabi. Salisbury Cathedral School will also be running stalls offering homemade cakes and mulled wine; the Cathedral Refectory will have a stand selling soup and turkey rolls for lunch and the choristers are taking a table.
“Last year’s Christmas Fair was the best yet, attracting over 1,000 visitors and raising over £3,000,” explained Friends Chair, Pippa Crosthwaite.
“We are hoping to build on that success this year with an even better event that makes Christmas shopping enjoyable by offering original gift ideas for all the family in one stunning location.”
The Christmas Fair in the Cloisters is open to everyone: children go free and the £2 adult entry fee will help to raise money for the rebuilding of Nepalese Higher Secondary School, Shree Mahendra and Salisbury Cathedral School.
