“Following my own spinal injury, and as I continue treatment with surgery ahead, I’ve come to truly appreciate the importance of calm, restorative spaces - and the powerful role nature can play in recovery. The work Horatio’s Garden does is incredibly special, and being able to support it through my own practice feels deeply meaningful.”

Today, we want to celebrate the wonderful Be Charlo Jewellery ✨

Her beautiful jewellery crackers raised an incredible amount for Horatio’s Garden over the festive season, and we’re so grateful for her talent, generosity, and kindness. Thank you 💚

How do these pictures make you feel? 🌿

These are ferns — soft, ancient plants with feathery fronds and beautiful repeating patterns that naturally calm the mind. Their gentle textures invite touch, while their quiet presence encourages us to slow down, pause, and breathe a little deeper.

Ferns create peaceful, shaded corners, whether in a garden or at home, and are often linked to improved focus, calm, and wellbeing. Even a single fern can transform how a space feels 🌟

Over in the South West Garden, ferns offer a subtle hint of what’s to come, sitting at the heart of the newly relocated Subaru Garden, currently taking shape.

For now, they simply remind us of the quiet beauty and calm that nature can bring 🌱

New Year, new you? ✨

The start of 2026 is the perfect time to think about ways to give back or try something new. There are so many ways to get involved with Horatio’s Garden South West 💚

🌿 Volunteer your time and skills in the garden — especially on Fridays or Saturdays
🏃‍♂️ Take part in a race or challenge event, like the Brighton Marathon or London Landmarks
🎉 Organise your own fundraising event
🍃 Or simply enjoy time outdoors, soaking up nature

Whatever you choose, your support helps us continue creating beautiful spaces for people living with spinal injuries across the South West.

Here’s to a year full of growth, kindness, and making every day count 🌱
