Last week at Karrek we held a first aid training course in the Karrek training room.

This consisted of learning how to use a defibrillator in a correct and safe manner, as well as educating the participants on how best to implement CPR without risk.
The trainees were also taught about choking hazards and how to handle any situation as well as how to cautiously respond to seizures and offering first aid assistance.

Karrek would like to thank the instructor and praise the enthusiasm of those who participated in this training course to assist in the care of others in our community.

This week, at Karrek we want to take the time to recognise the importance and impact of organ donation as well as those who are able to continue to live their lives due to the generosity of others.

Community is an important value of Karrek and to us, being able to help others through organ donation deserves to be recognised.

This week is especially important to us personally as our Registered Manager, Nick, has been the recipient of an organ donation during a time when he needed it most.

Last night Karrek Community was privileged to attend the Proud To Care Cornwall awards, where our very own Lily was nominated for the Registered Manager of the year award.

We are extremely thrilled to announce that Lily won the award.

Hi all and welcome back to another Top Tip Tuesday, where we at Karrek share some helpful and hopefully useful ideas for your day-to-day activities!

Today's all about changing your mindset and habits to feel refreshed and productive throughout the week.

This could include small changes like:
1. Taking a break from what you're doing for five minutes to keep your body and mind stress-free especially if you've been stagnant or busy for a while.
2. Narrate your actions like "I'm putting my iPad on the desk" so your brain can remember it easily and commit to it.
3. Pair a mundane task with something you love. Do you enjoy listening to music but hate washing the dishes? Well why don't you do both at the same time!

Try these out and share with your friends if these tips worked for you!
