We are delighted to welcome our latest cohort of Old Rydeians!

Our Y13 leavers officially became members following a ceremony at the end of last term.

Each student was presented with either an ORA tie or a trinket box.

We are saddened to hear about the passing of one of our former Ryde School teachers, Mr Edward Class, aged 97.

Known affectionately as Eddie, he taught Biology at Ryde between 1969 and 1987.

He was Head of CCF Sailing and taught students every summer on his boat, Victoria, and for many years ran CCF sailing trips on the Norfolk Broads.

Eddie was a well-loved character, known for making his tea on a bunsen burner, while also providing eggs for the school from his 120 chickens.

On behalf of everyone at Ryde School, we send our thoughts and condolences to Eddie's family.

We are incredibly sad to share that Dick Dabell has passed away at the amazing age of 101.

Dick was a wonderful man, who attended Ryde School between 1931 and 1942. He was also Chair of Governors between 1987 and 1992 and he later served as our ORA President.

Over the years, Dick shared so many fascinating stories with us about his memories and experiences at Ryde.

We send our love and condolences to Dick's family and friends. He will be greatly missed by us all.

It was fantastic to see so many Old Rydeians at Saturday night's summer drinks event.

Thank you to everyone for coming along and being part of a brilliant night.
