Ryde Carnival

Ryde Carnival Join the Isle of Wight’s most colourful celebration! Ryde Carnival fills the streets with music, dance, and parade to end summer on a high note 🎉

All are welcome to enjoy the entertaining parades that light up the town with fun, colour and carnival spirit. Ryde Carnival is the oldest carnival in the UK, dating back to the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria in 1887. Today, the Carnival is run by a tiny, passionate group of volunteers with a strong community ethos. The carnival is inclusive and everyone is welcome to take part as spectators or

performers. Current performers include marching bands, royalty floats, community and family groups. In 2022, the main procession will take place at 6.30 pm on 1 September. The illuminated procession takes place at 8.30 pm on 3 September. Details of the children's procession tbc. Join us in Ryde this September to mark the end of summer in spectacular style.

Time is running out to complete the Ryde Carnival Window Spotting Trail!

Have you spotted all the odd items hiding in the shop windows around Ryde? 🔍✨

There’s still time to take part:

1️⃣ Pick up a Ryde Carnival Programme — your Window Spotting entry form is included inside.
2️⃣ Visit the participating shop windows and find the odd item hidden in each one.
3️⃣ Return your completed entry form to the Department or Ryde Library by 3:00pm on 7th September.

🏃‍♀️ Get spotting and make sure your entry is in before the deadline!

We’d like to say a massive thank you to Arts Council England for funding some of the activities at our Children’s Carnival Day! 🎉❤️

A massive thank you to everyone who came along and supported us at our Children's Carnival Day yesterday despite the rain.

If the weather is bad Saturday, we will need to make a few changes to the event schedule.
