National Cadets Week – Skills for Life!

Being an Air Cadet is about discovering new interests, pushing boundaries and building skills that last a lifetime.

From first aid and aviation to leadership, teamwork, STEM, outdoor adventures and new challenges, our cadets learn by doing, build confidence and make lasting friendships.

These experiences help prepare them for the future, developing the knowledge, resilience and self-belief to take on whatever comes next.

As part of National Cadets Week, our cadets have been undertaking Essential First Aid training, including placing someone in the recovery position and performing CPR.

These vital skills build confidence, encourage responsibility and equip our cadets with the knowledge to help others in an emergency. Skills that could one day make a real difference! 💙

Today our cadets were supporting 2 separate events commemorating the 86th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain.
6 cadets attended Commemorations at the Battle of Britain Bunker Uxbridge, collecting on behalf of the Royal Air Force Association in the presence of the Station Commander RAF Northolt and the Mayor of Hillingdon.
2 more cadets joined members of the Middx Wing band at Bentley Priory for the Museum’s Annual Commemoration Day. The Cadets played a medley of music to suit the occasion ending with the Sunset parade and lowering the ensign.
Bentley Priory was the Headquarters of Fighter Command during WW2 and the place that masterminded the Battle of Britain.

When you’re opening that envelope — take a breath, take it all in, and give yourself credit for the hard work and determination that got you here.

Whatever the results bring, there’s no single route to success and plenty of opportunities ahead. Be proud of yourself, keep your head up and look forward to what comes next.✈️

A new environmental project for team 114. Using recycled materials the cadets have created raised flower beds from old tyres and a bug hotel from used building materials. A second bug hotel will follow shortly.

Sporting success for Team 114. Joint 🥇 in the Junior 5-a-Side and 🥉in the Senior Volleyball. Congratulations to all the team members on a fantastic achievement 🎉👏🏻.

Today Team 114 have been at the Battle of Britain Bunker attending an event for and in recognition of the WAAFs in WW2 to the present day. The cadets were collecting on behalf of the Royal Air Force Association.
